the unelected Dictators....

It would appear that the tentacles of Labour have not stopped thrashing yet. Today, we are informed that Manchester local authority is seeking to implement a minimum price for alcohol. Unusual in that local authorities have never set the price for anything, nor indeed, are allowed to by law.

Andy Walker, at Our Life, said: "There are 1.3 million adults in the North West who drink hazardous or harmful amounts of alcohol. And the cost to the NHS North West, in terms of treating alcohol-related injuries and illnesses, is in excess of £400 million a year."

No matter. A pressure group / fake charity is at the bottom of this little outrage. The ironically named "Our Life" based in Manchester. Not that Our Life were ever elected by the people of Manchester to make up new laws for them, so I thought I'd have a little look at the board.

Let's start at the top.

Sir David Henshaw - Renowned Blairite

David Parr - Coincidentally the leader of Labour Halton Borough Council

Dr Mike Burrows - CEO of Salford Primary Care Trust and worked for the NHS for 23 years

Paul Horrocks - Ex left wing editor of the Manchester Evening News

Rosemary Hawley MBE - Leading feminist and committee member of Merseyside Common Purpose

Kate Vokes - Ex management consultant

Ken Perry - Left wing housing officer

Right. Now that we know who you are, I want to know what gives you the right to impose YOUR views on the lives of nearly 4 million people. You were not elected, you are not accountable yet you seek to undermine democracy and take money from ordinary working people to finance your growing empires.

You have the right to reply. I will be waiting. Until then, Our Life can stay the fuck out of MY life.
