Disobey - It is your duty

a guest post by Fausty

The blogosphere and meeting places have been alight with anger, outrage, frustration. And questions about how to defeat our tyrannical 'masters' that make our lives a living hell.

Gandhi found non-compliance to be an effective tool to defeat his masters. And he was just one man.

Imagine what we could achieve, if we made a concerted effort, for a given number of days.

The fact is, the corporations want our money. The government needs our money. The 'mainstream' media are the mouthpieces of these monsters. And all of them are the cause of our misery.

If we starve them of it for a spell, how would that affect them?

We've lost the ability to think for ourselves because we've been programmed not to. If we cease to tune into their propaganda and instead, explore the alternative media, we see a different picture from the one they want us to see. We think for ourselves and join up the dots.

We have been little short of terrorised by their scare stories, their unwarranted use of and threat of force, their fines, their toxic products, their lies - to do their dirty bidding. They enrich themselves at our expense. Every time.

The Greeks and the Icelanders have woken up and taken action. The tyranny we face is on a par with theirs, if not greater, and yet we do bugger all about it. Our MPs don't give a jot - they're not listening to us. They're listening to their party whips, as they eye that juicy job within their grasp if they ignore us. So they do.

So let's learn from the Greeks, the Icelanders, Gandhi - and make our 'strike' international. After all, the entire civilised world is facing tyranny simultaneously.

And as Old Holborn says, we outnumber them. They cannot afford non-compliance on such a massive scale. Success frequently starts from small beginnings, as American patriots will tell you. As Gandhi demonstrated.

There comes a time when we have to say ENOUGH! NO MORE! Just like that lonesome chap did in Tiananmen Square (around 3:45 minutes into this video):

You have to wonder why our police are becoming militarised - all over the world - why the UN frequently deploys its 'peace-keeping' troops. Yes, troops - against civilians. Foreign troops who care nothing for those civilians - they're "just following orders". A government should never do that to its people. That is tyranny, as the Chinese knew only too well. They were expendable. Mere ants to be crushed underfoot.

Gandhi didn't set out to be a leader; he set out to make a point. He was earnest and determined and he got attention. People chose to follow his lead because he led from the front.

That is what our 'masters' fear. That is why they discourage us from congregating. That is why they attempt to set us against each other.

So we must do the opposite of what they want. Civilly. Lawfully. United.

What am I suggesting, then?

Karen Quinn-Tostado has a plan - and I hope we can gather enough support around the world to follow her lead and act simultaneously. She has the answer. We send them all her aptly put message (somewhat Anglicised and embellished, here):

We show them that they can't control us for four days. We're going to do what we want, we're going to think what we want and we're going to think about what's really important.

We've forgotten that all we need is clean air, clean water, healthy food, self-sufficient communities - and integrity. We don't need the government for those things.

"We the people", are not responsible for repayment of speculative banking scams. We will not allow our children to be used as collateral for foreign debt.

Our constitution is ignored, our rights are violated, we are taxed without representation. As long as we go about our lives as usual, they win and we pay.

We the people say NO MORE.

Here's what we do from 15th April to 18th April:

1) No work, no school. Our future depends on restoring our rights. Plan ahead, ask for time off, use holiday days or whatever it takes. Get school assignments for your children, who will then be able to learn about our rights [Ed: with the help of You've been Cromwelled, Old Holborn, Captain Ranty, Lawful Rebellion, and many others (let's have your suggestions)]. If you feel you must go to work, then go! Participate in the other steps. Do what you can! Learn about our true rights.

The British Constitution Group

It's a money game - they want ours. Time to change the rules.

2) No shopping - don't buy. Buy nothing from large corporations, fast food places, online stores, etc. Again, plan ahead for medications, petrol/diesel and food. If you have to shop, then go to local grocers and small family shops! If everyone keeps his money for 4 consecutive days, global bankers will notice.

3) Don't comply, take your £££s and savings out of large, corporate banks, leaving only what you need to cover monthly bills. Work at getting off the grid and forming co-ops within communities. We need each other and it will be our networking energy, as one, which will ensure success.

4) Ask Why. This is essential. Why are we allowing our constitution to be ignored? Why do our children have to sacrifice for banking scams? Why are we supporting policies that don't support us?

Then call your MPs and let them know you're participating in this strike and ask questions you feel are important. Then they will notice.

Imagine if citizens around the world joined Karen Quinn-Tostado's strike. Every one of us can dream that big when we remember that we've all been scammed and lied to by a criminal, dominant minority, who set us against each other, in war, in setting communities, races and sexes against each other, in neighbourhood spying, in so many ways.

We citizens should not be at war with each other. We should be at war with the corporate plunderers, the despots who believe they lead us, and the craven media who hide the truth from us and brainwash us with their lies. They are the enemy of the people.

We must empower ourselves, not ask for someone to save us.

"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion.
The people cannot be all, and always, well informed.
The part which is wrong will be discontented,
in proportion to the importance of the facts
they misconceive. If they remain quiet
under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the
forerunner of death to the public liberty. ... And what
country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from
time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance?
Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right
as to the facts, pardon and pacify them.
What signify a few lives lost in a century
or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed
from time to time, with the blood of patriots and
tyrants. It is its natural manure." -- Thomas Jefferson

Our masters want a one world government. Let's give them a one world - but of citizens, united, proud, with a shared vision of liberty.

When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it -always.
-- Mahatma Gandhi

So, we stock up on Petrol and Food, buying more in the days before this "People's Strike" then don't buy for a few days? Surely the net-effect is exactly the same.

Even if the entire country does this, it will have virtually no effect on the "Corporations" (are they the ones who act all Corporationy?)!

Whilst the third suggestion is better, the odds of actually getting enough people to sign up to Co-ops to make a difference is virtually zero. People like Tescos, they're cheaper and nearly as good as the small stores they replace. If the majority really felt strongly about "Corporate" behaviour, they'd have done something by now.

The problem is that there's not a critcal mass behind any of these initatives. To make the sort of diffrence that won't be dismissed as noise, you need to be looking at roughly 1% change, which seems easy, until you realise that needs 300,000 TaxPayers to change their behaviour. That's quite an impressive Facebook group.

There is a lot of merit in the scheme. But you will probably find you need a licence and a police permit to do it.

Dream on - people are apathetic and sleepwalking. As long as they have their Sky dishes, fish n chips and benfits they don't care. You also don't mention any ban on withdrawal of benefits on those days, or nurses stopping work etc etc ad nauseum. Ill conceived, not thought through and totally ineffective. There is a beeter way.

This sounds like opting out of capitalism in general rather than against government.

Not go to work? .. but I run my own business... I don't "go" to work, it just is something I do, and want to do.

Take money out of the big banks and don't shop at big stores.... for 4 days?!
if you're that bothered why only 4 days?

No-one will notice.
In fact I'm not in the country for those 4 days so I win.

We buy too much. The point is to avoid feeding the government and the corporations. Withdraw your custom from them.

Sounds like the American woman who got this bandwagon together was inspired by Atlas Shrugged. There's nothing new about this idea. ISTR Thoreau and Emerson advocated civil disobedience back in the 19th century.

Awareness of this exploitation by our governments is certainly growing rapidly, but the sheeple are generally fearful and gutless. They won't take any meaninful action until faced with starvation. It's sad but true. If this campaign succeeds, yeah, it will be a huge kick in the cunt for the authorities. But I don't see the national or international mood is there yet; even for something as innocuous as doing fuck all for a few days...

CW has been giving some considerable thought, to how the control works , or perhaps how the new systems of control work .I cant go along with the waste aspect of things by a protest strike with an election at hand , but I cant help but think somthing is very wrong with these new progressive ideas on on fracturing society into things that arent free at all .

It all looks to me like a one way trip with subliminal gatekeepers and an elite nudgeing your subconcious .Its like there hooked on some sort of crack consumerist model of total control .
The inate desire of the individual to better themselves within a social model is dissapearing , for this more pavolivian instant gratification to sync with fast moving finance.
I am not a PC despite what bill Gates says and I dont see any benefit in becoming one either , I mean is my life defined by connected in updates ,in which I feel more or less happy if I have them . It totally misses the significance of real life and its meanings .
Its an artificial world , a hamster wheel designed by some one else , rather than the more questioning and natural transference of life values .

I get a bit of stick/rubbishing about my views even from people who supposedly can debate it , but no one has given me a straight answer if the quality of life that I wish to see , means that all this spin guff is meaningless/gutless tripe .

Barroness Susan Greenfield made some usefull points about how indulging in emotional cyber games/experience starts to program the brain very differently , literally turning the real world into more of disconnected subconcious .

We may literally be rotting our brains and actually becomming easier to govern as we are losing the capacity to think for ourselves with any depth or even appropiate emotion. There appears to be no opt out either.

Any sort of riotous behaviour will be put down, we are not Americans we don't have guns, all we can do is march and protest. But if things get out of hand they will kill you, they will probably call in the EU army if social unrest is beginning to get out of hand, remember we are now a satelite of the EU unfortunately anf they will be the ones who put done any uprising.

We need a strike on polling day - I'm going to do my duty and go along to the polling station. On my ballot paper I'm going to write Thank you all for your propositions but I don't wish to vote for any of you. No mandate equals no government. No-one will be able to claim they can govern me. Think about it -if everyone did this the country would be ungovernable. There I go , dreaming again.

And get an allotment if you can or failing that put some of your garden over to fruit and veg growing. Not dobbing £120 a week into a supermarket for groceries is a great and subversive way to starve the beast. Grex spent today resurrecting the allotment after the wonter's depradations. Already seedlings are being swapped and barter deals done for later in the season. A first BBQ organized. The peasants are starting to revolt.

My own civil disobedience suggestion:

Everyone else is going on strike.

So why not hold a cash strike?

The public, as consumers, as investors, as borrowers, as taxpayers, as the myriad little cogs in the engine of society. Drain away the oil that keeps the thing moving.

Just for a month....maybe.

Withhold council tax.
Don't pay the mortgage
Don't pay the credit card
Don't pay the utility companies.
Pull cash out of the bank.

Sent a polite letter saying, thank you very much but I'm not paying this month, and I'll probably pay you next month.

A one-month cash strike. The reason is that every organisation and business is dependent upon monthly cash flow. It is lack of cash flow, rather than lack of profit, that sends organisations to the wall if they can't borrow to cover themselves. Everyone needs to pay someone else, usually monthly, and salaries are the monthly output with which we are most familiar. LAte payment is common enough in the business world anyway.

If 100,000 people don't pay their bills for a month, that has a big impact on cash flow.

I've been mulling over this idea for a year or so....the moment might be approaching. Like Karen's idea in many ways.

Police in Nth Wales were unfairly stopping bikers, a demo was called for and 10000 bikers turned up to demonstrate against the police. Just read that the police with tongue in cheek said sorry and promised not to do it again. A proposal was put forward on facebook for a ride to Sutton Bassett to rally round the troops, 15000 bikers turned up. Are you telling me you can`t get a demonstration against the government with the amount of grumbling thats going on at the moment. If thats the case then A people don`t care or B they`re bloody cowards who are frightened of there own shadow, I know which I believe. Instead of whinging and whining on here why don`t all you bloggers get organising!!

You have an influential blog so why not organise a pensioner's walk about in London on any given day. A few thousand geriatics (like me) could do a lot of damage disrupting the traffic and bringing London to a standstill. The Gestapo would lose a lot of face if they began to rough up the elderly...and the elderly would know exactly how to gain maximum effect!

Old people bringing London to a standstill one day a month would have a dramatic effect around the world and... let's face it we owe it to our grandchildren!

Onr thing we can all do to kick them where it hurts that is free, lawful and culturally enriching.

Chuck out your TV, avoid the telly tax and bring the vile BBC crashing to its knees. You can carry on depriving the state of its gobshite mouthpiece and notice board by avoiding that tax for ever more. Read some books, go walking, meet people in the park, it's all free.

I dont hook up with BNP criminals.

Holby, when I first brought my 4 hens home some neighbour`s came a knocking on my door demanding to know if I had a permit for them.

He and his wife were escorted off my property and told in an aggressive manner to fuck off!.

A couple of weeks later I saw him in the local boozer,he was pissed,he came over and started banging on about bird flu,I tried to have an adult conversation with him but he was having none of it.

I went out side for a smoke and the cunt followed me out,he then started making noises about his kids being in danger,I explained to him that the hens were on my own property in a run within a large fenced off garden with no access to anyone else, but he still wasnt satisfied and carried on ranting,I was about to go back inside when he grabbed my arm,put his face right in mine and said "I`m gonna fucking kill them fucking birds"

A double tap headbutt left him blooded and sprawling in the hedge.

Strange thing is when word of this incident got around I began to get total strangers approach me asking where they can buy hens, how easy are they to keep etc,the local kids call me chicken George now and run off flapping their arms hahahaha!.

I`m considering a couple of pigs!

This is all too complicated, too demanding of people. Gandhi made salt from the sea, a simple and symbolic act that struck at the heart of commercial interests. Perhaps we could gather outside the Bank of England and print money. Then use the printed money in exchange for donated goods. This act would required courage from those involved but it would also get to the very root of things and send a clear message that we know how the game is controlled. The state would be compelled to over-react as it is the money printing scam that underpins all their fragile power. I'm afraid that any action on a greater scale is unlikely to succeed, initially at least. These things must be taken in stages, starting small and engaging the emotions of more and more people as action progresses. It's a sad fact but a great number of people in this country will only respond to save their own lives once they are in a minority. They have been thoroughly indoctrinated by the tyranny of democracy and they hide amongst the masses for security. Stripping away their security, one mind at a time, will eventually encourage them to wake the hell up once they find themselves exposed. Like a process of osmosis. They operate on fear, not with logic or education or even by direct experience. I'm sorry to speak so harshly about my fellow citizens but I can only report what I have witnessed.
