Natural Law

In the name of Harriet's "equality"

I notice with amusement that an almighty punch up is brewing between those who proport to represent a higher authority than man and those who proport to represent a higher authority than a man.

the Pope versus Harriet Harperson.

The Pope is claiming "natural law" (I'll assume he's not refering to God's Law) says it doesn't make good sense to hire homosexual priests and put them in charge of the Church Youth Group because they will end up abusing innocent children, resulting in shattered lives and misery for all. And as head of the Catholic Church, he should know.

Harriet Harperson is claiming that Equality means the church MUST hire homosexual priests and put them in charge of the Church Youth Group because even though they will end up abusing innocent children, resulting in shattered lives and misery for all, she's the boss and we must not discriminate against homosexual child molesting priests. So there.

Now, I'll assume the Pope believes in a God, so he will ultimately be forced to face the consequences of his actions and pay whatever the price his God demands from him. His Church will be forced to pay compensation to the stretched ringpieces of thousands of innocent children even though he didn't want it this way. Thousands of innocent lives will be ruined.

Harriet Harperson on the other hand will retire to a thatched cottage in the countryside on a massive pension and drink tea, far, far away from the consequences of her actions.

Sorry, I'm with the Pope on this one (and it's not often you'll read that here)

We are not all equal. I am not equal to a paedophile priest. I am not equal to a thief. I am not equal to a murderer. I am a lesser being than someone who dedicates their lives to enhancing the lives of the disabled. I am a lesser being than someone who discovers the cure for a fatal disease and freely distributes it. I am a lesser being than someone who will give their life for a stranger.

Harriet. We are not all equal. Science has identified around 2 million different species on this planet. Some are clever, some are not. Sheep do not choose wolves as leaders. Grass prefers not to be ruled by cows. And children are much safer away from homosexual priests. No matter what YOU may think.

In May 2008 an interview she gave to Civitas Harman stated that marriage was irrelevant to government policy and that there was "no ideal type of household in which to bring up children"
Now fuck off and leave nature alone. (PS. Keep wearing the stab vest, you'll need it)

I so agree.

I'm going to keep repeating this!

Equality for all when all are obviously not equal is Communism.

Likewise, this will probably be the only time I agree with the Pope.

And you will never know how hard it was to type that.

How can anyone be so stupid that they could possibly think we are all equal? What's so great about 'equal' anyway?

thankyou to blogger who coined the term sci finance.

this topic is a real tin or worms i am a bit of cycnic in that it puts some weird ideas into pensions, health care and inhertence . I go with the natural law in that at least your conscience is a little clearer.

This law only needs to a few more steps and the state can decide if you live or die according to economics .How about death agents who get so much commission for easing pension burden??

It is alittle unfair just citing those who are degenerating into a slow death as these could well be only a small number compared to pensioners.

Cw thinks this law is asking for trouble .

Re the first contributor; I have a theory that once you get above Captain (read Bishop) the only way to get onto the senior executive ladder is if you are intelligent not to believe in the catholic God.

And communism? If people were all equal in communism why did they have special schools for their brightest pupils?

Biologically speaking, of course, we are ALL the same.

We are almost identical. 99.99% anyway. The remaining 0.01% covers skin tone, personality, and abnormalities.

The hierarchy looks like this:

Your god/your creator
You
Everything else

Everything else is inferior to you.

More specifically, that means everything man-made: courts, governments, government agencies, police officers (not the man, but the office), plastic plod, traffic wardens, in fact, anyone who represents a corporation.

Once you learn this your battle is over. You have already won.

YOU are superior. YOU are a minor god.

Act like one.

The word will get passed, and she'll be dead in two weeks.

OH - Whilst I normally agree with most of what you say, I do wish that you would learn the difference between a homosexual and a paedophile. One is doing something behind closed doors with another consenting adult and the other is abusing a child. Simples. Whilst you might not like the idea of homosexual acts, these people are actually quite good for society in the fact that they generally don't have kids and therefore make a net financial contribution.

You don't actually know what natural law (or, rather, ius naturale) is, do you, OH?

You have no fucking clue that "natural law" is a specific branch of Roman Catholic doctrine that proceeds from the religio-jurisprudential theories of Augustine.

You are so ignorant that you believe that "natural law" translates as "common sense".

Do us all a favour, OH: go back to school or, at least, put down the Daily Sport and crack a fucking book. The level of sheer and unalloyed ignorance that you display in your pronouncements is swiftly getting beyond a joke.

Pre-WWII, the Pope was more than eager to sign a treaty with Hitler to insure his churches remain open, with the requirement they all use Nazi propaganda in their Sunday sermons of course, as did the Protestant churches. If this sold the Jewish population down the river, well the Pope couldn't have cared less. Whatever the current Nazi exterminators demand then the history books show the Pope will be more than likely to do whatever is demanded of him as well. That's why, for example, back when the smoking bans were introduced and removed liberties, the Pope was more than willing to sit back and be quiet, as long as it did nothing to affect his earthly empire - lacking moral backbone as he does. If he couldn't even stand up for that - and nowadays fully endorses the UN's global-warming scam - then what makes anyone think the Catholic church is nothing but a purely corrupted scam and following nothing about what Christ came here to die for. In earlier times the spirit of the Pope would be the one on the sidelines hushing up and being silent, hoping to remain in earthly power, no different than the Pharisees did then. Phooey on the Catholic Pope - for being the actual opposite of what Christ actually stood for.

I agree with OH on this matter.

If the UK state bullies this new statute law through, then I hope that the RC Church refuses to contract with such statute law.

RC church has over 2000 years history. Whereas nuLabour and every UK misGov max has at most 5 years. My money is on the RC church winning this one.

Religious persecution is against EU law anyhow, and since the UK is now under EU law, EU law wins out.

Good for the Holy Father I say.

Davina may I ask you a question?

If all men (and for that matter women) were homosexual surely the human race would die out wouldn't it?

Forget sperm donations.

Therefore can it be considered that being homosexual is normal - given that the human race would quickly die out if all men were homosexual?

As far as I'm aware, in nature,
two men cannot reproduce a child.

Forget egg donations.

I look forward to your reply.

Personally, I thought the Catholic Church was already quite high up in the stakes of child abuse with their (heterosexual)paedo priests?
Also, I wish people would stop assuming that homosexual=paedo - it doesn't.
However, overall, I'm with the Pope on this one - the State should not be able to make decisions on the sexuality of priests. Are they going to enforce homosexual Imans? Thought not! Bet the thick bint hasn't even thought of that issue.

What1 - I'm not quite sure that I get your point. Yes, if the entire population were homosexual (and forgetting turkey baster type solutions), the human race would die out. But the entire population is not homosexual, certainly no more than 5-10%.

Like being left handed, it is not The Norm, but it is normal.

Beast - I think you are seeing the stereotypical screaming young things who like to parade once a year blowing whistles, rather than the quiet, middle-class types who just live a quiet life, work hard & pay their taxes to this shit govt.

mmmm...well now...it is theoretically possible that future advances in medical science could enable a pope to have sex-change thus allowing another pope to put a hot-cross bun in his oven...although it is, of course, not yet absolutely clear whether a future incumbent pope would give his papal blessing to such a revolutionary procedure.

in the event of this doctrine failing, they could always toss-off in each other's belly buttons then kneel down before the altar of st peter's basilica and pray for a miracle virgin birth.

i hate to disappoint you, holy father, but it is a theologically impossible incompatibility to have two popes in situ concurrently at the same time - to put it in layman's terms, your eminence, one pope has to snuff his worldly wick before the next gaffer can jump into his bed, as it were, and thus your deposition would sadly fall on gravely ground, i fear. however, there is still one small doctrinal window left slightly ajar, your eminence, if we consider a circumstance where the incoming pope has already "had the op" and the papal conclave is convened and finished-off in such a fervour of religious haste that he (or is it she?) is in a primal position to jump on the exiting holy father's semi-stiff ding-dong and perform the sancta necrophilia, a sacred service whereby the newly annointed pope receives unto his body the holy ghost from the freshly laid pontiff, whereupon the papal union is duly and solemnly consecrated by the gathered college of doddery old cardinals. although, naturally, we will first have to successfully reverse the fag ban in the sistine chapel, or two thousand years of proud apostolic ceremonial tradition will all go up in bloody smoke. i respectfully propose this thesis, your eminence, notwithstanding my most humble and pious deference to your infallible proclamation of the dogma on this matter. hail mary. amen.

You don't actually know what natural law (or, rather, ius naturale) is, do you, OH?

From Wikipedia:"Natural law theories have exercised a profound influence on the development of English common law,[3] and have featured greatly in the philosophies of Thomas Aquinas, Francisco Suárez, Richard Hooker, Thomas Hobbes, Hugo Grotius, Samuel von Pufendorf, John Locke and Emmerich de Vattel. Because of the intersection between natural law and natural rights, it has been cited as a component in United States Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States."
