I worked for a london firm, which when went into liquidation. Wwe was told to shred anything A4!
It took a week, even before the Official Receivers knew what was going on!
So Im not suprised when things go tits up, that such "public bodies" follow exactly as the private sector would!

Pfft, amateurs. After my ex employer ran out of "investors" fleece, bumfucked most of their staff, and then phoenixed themselves, they suffered a "break in" by parties unknown who apparently stole these and only these items:
* The laptops of the directors.
* "Some" documents from the company safe.
* The network and email backup tapes from the safe.
Seriously - that's what they claimed. Want to serve a writ demaning the evidence that could convict them of the many, many crimes that they have committed and continue to commit? So sorry, old chap, it must have been "stolen". Look, we have an Incident Number and everything. Take it up with Plod.
A perfect example of how private enterprise is more efficient than government.
