Climate Honesty

A fully blown Ecoloon, yesterday

Whilst our good friends at Pravda are ramming "Climate Change" down our throats 24/7 and desperately trying to undo the damage caused by the fact that the whole fucking thing is made up to keep the Indians and Chinese in poverty whilst taxing the very breaths we take, more Emails showing "unquestionable proof of Climate Change" are arriving daily

Here's one from:

Dr. Edward R. Cook
Doherty Senior Scholar and
Director, Tree-Ring Laboratory
Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory
Palisades, New York 10964 USA
Email: drdendro@xxxxxxxxx.xxx
Phone: 845-365-8618

Without trying to prejudice this work, but also because of what I almost think I know to be the case, the results of this study will show that we can probably say a fair bit about <100>100 year variability was like with any certainty (i.e. we know with certainty that we know fuck-all).

Here's a little video of lots and lots of Limos in Nohopenhagen to amuse you

UPDATE: WOW! No really, WOW

Carbon Reduction and Climate Stabilization

A comprehensive guide to the market for carbon reduction and climate stabilization. The market encompasses renewable power generation, energy efficiency, carbon sequestration, as well as varied other subsectors.

Spending and investment for the sector, now in the hundreds of billions of dollars, is on track to escalate into the trillions of dollars. Aggregate spending could easily be in the hundreds of trillions of dollars over the course of the 21st century.

Carbon Reduction provides comprehensive analyses of the carbon reduction market-place, with reviews of legislation, assessments of carbon mitigation technologies, discussions of carbon offset trading, profiles of key players, and more.

Categorized into 12 segments, the report also assesses current and projected spending, CO2 reduction potential, market drivers and barriers, recent developments, leading edge companies, and research groups to watch.

A good place to stop carbon polution would be to hold your breath, get all the animals to do the same and no farting.

“It would depend on the person’s size and how active they are. Find the CO2 rates for an hour during sleep and being awake, multiply them by whatever you need and you’ll figure out an annual estimate.

However, a rough estimate (curtesy of “The Earth Blog”) assuming 12 breaths per minute (resting breath rate) is 500kg

The number is easy to estimate: breaths per minute x CO2 per breath x minutes per year

From Wiki – the breath rate is 12 to 25 per minute. Size of breath is 500 mL. Percent CO2 exhaled is 4% so CO2 per breath is approx 0.04g ( 2g/L x .04 x .5l).

CO2 Per year= 12 x 0.04 x 525600 (minutes per year) = 252kg/yr
CO2 (25 breaths) = 525 Kg/yr.

So – pick a number between 252 Kg/yr and 525Kg/yr

1000 lbs/year is a good figure of merit.”

Well, if 1000 lbs/yr is a figure of good merit and there are 6,000,000,000 (rounded down) people on Earth then human exhalation causes 6,000,000,000,000lbs/yr of emissions which works out to 3,000,000,000 tons/yr of CO2 emitted. Someone should do something about this.

Also, if people add 3,000,000,000 tons per year, then there math is off on how much fossil fuels add.

There's no harm in using a Limo for transport. They can carry several people. But that lot only had one person sitting in the back!
God, they think we're stupid!

Some info on the amount of aircraft involved as mentioned on the vid.

Mean while.
From the Telegraph, the tale of elitist excess begins:

On a normal day, Majken Friss Jorgensen, managing director of Copenhagen’s biggest limousine company, says her firm has twelve vehicles on the road. During the “summit to save the world”, which opens here tomorrow, she will have 200. “We thought they were not going to have many cars, due to it being a climate convention,” she says. “But it seems that somebody last week looked at the weather report.”

Ms Jorgensen reckons that between her and her rivals the total number of limos in Copenhagen next week has already broken the 1,200 barrier. The French alone rang up on Thursday and ordered another 42. “We haven’t got enough limos in the country to fulfil the demand,” she says. “We’re having to drive them in hundreds of miles from Germany and Sweden.”

And the total number of electric cars or hybrids among that number? “Five,” says Ms Jorgensen. “The government has some alternative fuel cars but the rest will be petrol or diesel. We don’t have any hybrids in Denmark, unfortunately, due to the extreme taxes on those cars. It makes no sense at all, but it’s very Danish.”

The airport says it is expecting up to 140 extra private jets during the peak period alone, so far over its capacity that the planes will have to fly off to regional airports – or to Sweden – to park, returning to Copenhagen to pick up their VIP passengers.

As well 15,000 delegates and officials, 5,000 journalists and 98 world leaders, the Danish capital will be blessed by the presence of Leonardo DiCaprio, Daryl Hannah, Helena Christensen, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Prince Charles. A Republican US senator, Jim Inhofe, is jetting in at the head of an anti-climate-change “Truth Squad.” The top hotels – all fully booked at £650 a night – are readying their Climate Convention menus of (no doubt sustainable) scallops, foie gras and sculpted caviar wedges.

Yesterdays statement by the EPA in America that co2 is now a hazzard to human health reminded me of an item by newsnights Ethical Man.
John Podesta(Obama's top adviser)showed the intent 9 months ago of using the EPA as a tool to bypass the democratic process in America.
It appears things are going to plan judging by the EPA statement.

From the Guardian editorial yesterday:

"Social justice demands that the industrialised world digs deep into its pockets and pledges cash to help poorer countries adapt to climate change, and clean technologies to enable them to grow economically without growing their emissions.... And fairness requires that the burden placed on individual developed countries should take into account their ability to bear it; for instance newer EU members, often much poorer than "old Europe", must not suffer more than their richer partners."

Social justice and fairness?

Fuck all to do with science then...

How about this then
Why the Maldives aren't sinking
Nils-Axel Mörner 2:52pm
The President of the Maldives recently held a Cabinet meeting underwater, saying his islands may be submerged. In an open letter, taken from the climate change supplement in the latest issue of the The Spectator, Nils-Axel Mörner assures him his country is safe:
Dear Mr President,
You are obviously very concerned about the effect that sea level rises may have on the Maldives. Your Cabinet has been photographed meeting underwater, and you have even declared that ‘we are going to die’ if the climate change summit in Copenhagen fails. I am now writing with what I hope will be some good news. The scientific side of the situation is quite different to that which you imagine. You are, in fact, not going to die.
Before I continue, I should perhaps state my credentials. I have been a sea-level specialist for 40 years. I launched most of its new theories in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. I solved the problem of the gravitational potential surface, the theory that it changes with time; the rotation of the earth, how it affected the redistribution of the oceans’ masses — and so on. Last year, I was awarded a prize from Algarve university for my ‘irreverence and contribution to our understanding of sea level change’.
We both know that the 1,200 islands of the Maldives are all low-lying with the highest point only some 2.5m (8ft) above sea level. Hence, your nation is vulnerable to extreme storms, tsunamis — and, of course, any possible sea level rise.
There is more.......

And have you seen the sponsors for the Copenhagen crap-festival?

BMW, Volvo, Honda, DHL (with their 350+ aircraft) and Scandinavian Airlines.

Hope the attendees work out where all that horrid co2 is coming from.

Pravda are really piling the bullshit high now, banging on about "warmest decade on record" (only 170 years of records...) and stressing it's all good because of their "accurate data".

So. Warmest decade in 170 years = proof of AGW ? Hmmm.........

There *is* no 'climate change', man-made or otherwise.

All our planet's climate is doing is responding to the cyclical rhythms which occur on sole source of energy - the sun.

All the hoo-har about climate change is merely a construct propogated by the Righteous in order to maintain their control over our lives, through further legislation and, above all, taxation.

Resisting this Righteous intrusion into your lives is your Libertarian duty.

Fuck 'em. Fuck 'em all.

FFS OH, You are nit picking, no one really expects them to use public transport or be eco friendly. They have just turned up to formalise the transfer of money from us "the rich" to third world countries in payment of our "climate debt". The debt we owe them for progressing and making the very existence of limos possible.

Anyway the public transport bit is for us the proles who are paying for all this.

@OH: good article, and a great picture of Mr Climate Change himself, but no credit for Obo, who had this yesterday?

@Constantly Furious: And yet despite the corporate sponsorship of the AGW agenda, the alarmists continue to yell about how "the coal and oil industry" is behind all attempts to "discredit science". "Follow the money," they say, but never follow their own advice.

On the Pravda bias, the first article on last night's One Show had the execrable Lucy Siegel exhorting everyone to stop eating meat so that the cows would stop belching methane and we could 'save the planet from global warming' like she was soing in her own smug simpering Pharisaical fashion.

Congratulations are due, though, to Adrian Chiles and Gordon Ramsey for conspiring to turn the follow-up chat into a series of fart jokes, hopefully making the Levantine veggie eco-loon look stupid in the eyes of the undecided.

One good programme last night was Tony Robinson's new 'Man on Earth' series, where seeing him squirming to try to bring AGW into a story of natural climate variation and its effects on early man was highly amusing. He was as wretched as a wretched thing that has been discarded by a wretch.

The real culprits here are Goldman Sachs and their government placemen.

They're doing it because they stand to make hundreds of billions and that sum is GUARANTEED to rise.

This is the scandal of the century and governments are playing along.

You have to ask yourself why that might be.

Ray Nerslane said...

I read somewhere (no, not Wikipedia) that a single major volcanic eruption spews as much CO2 into the atmosphere in one go as man has EVER produced.

If this could be verified, this one small inconvenient fact alone could put the tin lid on the whole AGW myth.

Yep, Copenhagen was always about wealth transfer and increasing powers to supranation entities. While keeping 'others' well and truly down.

Competition is a sin, didn't you know...

The only bright spot in this who hypocritical process is:

A Republican US senator, Jim Inhofe, is jetting in at the head of an anti-climate-change “Truth Squad.”

Meanwhile 'the Saviour of the World' Obama Beach performs like the whore he always was.

I must admitt that as an ECo campaigner , there is somthing wrong in this , its not the right questions at all on the enviroment . Note govt have ok heathrow runway 3 , despite it putting up emmissions .

Its very misleading and CW is bit cross , there is eco damage being done , but it isnt directly as a result of CO2 .

It is very bitter drink indeed that for all those of us who have worked on this to find it , far more to do with politics than cleaning up the planet .

re danish statement, doesnt surprise me now , no wonder they are ramming it home .

CW is not happy , not happy at all

Let's start a countdown to the inevitable banning of "climate change denial".

I'm guessing they'll stagger along, haemorrhaging Believers for the next 18 months before caving in and forcibly suppressing dissent. I'll pick June 2011. Anyone want to pick a different date?
