Time to name and shame

Old Holborn :To The Rt Hon. Ed Balls MP, The Rt Hon Gordon Brown MP, The Rt Hon Nick Brown MP, The Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP, The Rt Hon the Lord Mandelson, The Rt Hon Jim Murphy MP, The Rt Hon Jack Straw MP, The Rt Hon David Cameron MP, The Rt Hon George Osborne MP, The Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP, The Rt Hon Michael Gove MP, The Rt Hon Dominic Grieve MP, The Rt Hon William Hague MP

Dear Oaf,

You've been identified as one of 13 Idiot MPs who are the worst of the worst roadblocks to the electoral reform we so badly need and demand.

It's not a distinction you should be proud of. Following this spring's expense scandal, our democracy is in crisis. We urgently need to reform our voting system so that citizens can hold their representatives to account again and have a fair say in the process.

Yet you and your fellow MPs remain opposed to giving voters that say. How very "democratic"

I'm writing now to urge you to support our right to determine how we choose our elected officials.

I'm not asking you to support one electoral system or another.

I'm just asking you to give we, the voters, your bosses, the chance to contribute to decisions that affect our lives by supporting a referendum on the electoral system at the next general election.

We are your masters, never forget it.

Otherwise we'll simply do it all on the Internet and you'll be out of a well paid job.

The trouble with proportional representation I used to think, was that it was like having a car with more than one steering wheel.
Now i'm not so sure.
We need protecting from all powerful governments and their vision of how things should be.
At least with a coalition govt there would be no concensus thus little interference.

I wouldn't trust this government to implement such a thing - they'd skew it in their favour and then we'll probably not get another chance to change the system.

PR and its variants would help to some degree, but the problem, I believe, is that the current crop entered parliament fully expecting lots of dosh and power; they're not serving us, they're serving themselves.

Better if we vote for anything but Lib/Lab/Con and have a referendum on electoral reform after the GE, when half of these b@stards will be gone.

This has always been the best option I think -

Not a snowball in hells chance of the current 3 party apparatchiks in our managed "democracy" holding a referendum on it though.

Well I would sign up but it wants my state and zipcode. I don't live in the USA, neither, I think you will find, do the MPs listed.

Fix that and I'll be there

i've also had my mobile phone hacked into and received other emails detailing aspects of my personal life and activities. i suspect that the non-existent email addresses contained in the above email comprise some form of code for some sort of message. i'm not really interested in what this email means, or from whom it came, but would like to point out that a code is totally meaningless unless the recipient has been given the code-key - and therefore, since i have not been given any code-key, nor know from whom the email has come, i would suggest that the sender is a bit of a thicky.

any ideas anyone?

ps: if each letter in the "to" address denotes a word beginning with that same letter, the pea-brained-twit sending these messages would do well to open a dictionary - in each case, there are, in fact, quite a few words beginning with the same letter of the alphabet, and although i know quite a few of them, i could never in amillion years guess which one the emailer had in mind, as i am not telepathic.

I hope you're not expecting the Tories to be any more open and democratic:

You sure you want to get into bed with these people? Caus i am telling you now, they will spunk all over you.

Referendums are what dictator Napoleon did to pretend he had popular support. If you dont vote for what they want (and you are given no alternative except the status quo), they get bored of referendums and do it anyway.

We have a proper democracy and if the fat benefit mothers with 83 children and a tab at Mcdonalds want to vote for thieving MPS we have to put up with it. Its freedom.
