Orwell Prize 2010

As OH readers will know, Nightjack won this coverted award last year and was promptly outed by a complete arsegrape, Patrick Foster of the Times and had to delete his blog and go into hiding.

Well, this year, he is the judge.

Vote early, vote often.

I have nominated the following ten blogs:

Devils Kitchen - for his superb fisking of everyone and eveything
Anna Raccoon - for her intelligent critique and subtle anger
Leg Iron - for his relentless tirade against the Righteous
Tax Payers Alliance - for reminding the 646 at every opportunity that it is MY money
Guido Fawkes - For showing the way to thousands of would be bloggers
Letters from a Tory - For a truly unique style on holding them to account
Subrosa - For a truly Scottish perspective

I will add more later.

You appear to have rather modestly left your own bulging and sweat-stained codpiece of a blog off the list

Tyburn Jig 29 October 2009 20:02

I just voted for OH.

This stunning piece of bloggery:

Rab C. Nesbitt 29 October 2009 20:22

It's a shame what happened to NightJack.

Anonymous,  29 October 2009 20:44

No, Rab it isn't. Wear the uniform, pay the price.

Dick Puddlecote 29 October 2009 21:02

Way to post controversially and accountibly, Anon.

SaltedSlug 29 October 2009 21:04

May I humbly remind everyone that I've put Nightjack's complete blog back up
here, so that I can bask in his reflected glory.

As you were.

Dick Puddlecote 29 October 2009 21:07

Here's a class act to be nominated:

This guy, for this.

O.H.,

Are the Jury Team far right, in line with the B.N.P.? Socialists seem to think so - Third Comment Down to this post on the Glasgow East by election.

caesars wife,  29 October 2009 22:00

I think fawkes is as near to interactive rebellious politics as you can get , TPA have done some excellent work.

But your blogging OH has come on a lot so i hope you get a look in .

Anonymous,  29 October 2009 22:03

Big fish,  29 October 2009 22:31

"Dear old pals,jolly old pals"

"Said much the same over at mine"

Gweedo the totalitarian oppressor!,  29 October 2009 22:55

Gweedo squawkes,

You must be kidding? the guy is as Orwellian as Labour with his over the top censorship and propaganda.

Perhaps he is nothing more than a state stooge set up to undermine our democracy.

While getting a kick out of bashing the MPs he is allowed to bash and the subjects he is allowed to air.

Anonymous,  29 October 2009 22:58

I never visit Guido's blog of bollocks, censorship and electioneering these days.

If you don't have free speech you have nothing - guido has nothing!

Libertarian my arse - Tory stooge.

Anonymous,  29 October 2009 23:48

I think the Prize should go to Guthrum, He started off slow writing loads of bollocks but soon became one the the best and most enlightened bloggers around and almost always worth reading.

He only writes bollocks on the odd accasion these day.

Unlike OH who contines to write constant bollocks though you have to give OH his due, unsensored to the last.

And without that your blog is worth diddly squat as you would be part of the problem not the solution.

so while i still winse at your regular tripe OH, i still tip my hat to you.

bofl,  30 October 2009 00:04

guido has gone downhill since he hit the big time.......he talks about freedom but censors loads of things.not just posts re the bnp//////

mention the name of a bank or anyone that might want to advertise on his page and you get modded.....!!!!!

he talks about change and the whores in westminster but will sell hmself for fuck all too!

he wants a revolution -but only if it makes him money.......

shame-used to be a good blog......

bofl,  30 October 2009 00:06

ps i like obo and the penguin.......

keep the vitriol as his as possible lads!!!!!

Fausty 30 October 2009 00:45

Devil's Kitchen is too leftie for me, although it has it merits. I wouldn't vote for it.

Leg-Iron, definitely. The man has a handle on what's wrong with this world and how to fix it. Compelling reading. LI for PM, I say.

Guido seems to be a bit in love with himself. Yes, he's had fabulous scoops and has aided the democratic process, but he irks me. His posts seem ego-based, rather than principle-based.

TPA, couldn't agree more; a fantastic organisation.

Anna Racoon has accumen and wonderfully rational, cyncal humour; well desderved at the top.

Unmentioned, is Ian Parker-Joseph. A libertarian of substance.

g1lgam3sh 30 October 2009 01:48

Now this deserves dissemination...if you don't agree, don't pass it on...if you do...make it viral...

wh00ps 30 October 2009 09:04

I'm going to vote for Leg-Iron, because he's fucking ace.

Pogo 30 October 2009 10:56

@Anonymous - 29 October 2009 21:42

Are the Jury Team far right, in line with the B.N.P.?

Get this through your thick bonce... The BNP are NOT "far right". They're statist socialists. Read their fucking manifesto - excepting the racist bits it could have been written by Michael Foot or Anthony Wedgewood-Benn.

Socialists seem to think so

That's because they're either (a) fucking stupid, or (b) embarrassed that a "racist" party are more socialist than Labour and think that by chanting the mantra of "BNP = far right" they'll hide the fact and confuse the stupid. Much like they've done to you.

subrosa 30 October 2009 13:03

I'm stunned OH, nay knocked out! I missed this last night (was away pretending to be a bridge player) and have just received an email from one of my readers about it.

I curtsey in appreciation with the hope that my back can stand the strain.

Constantly Furious 30 October 2009 15:26

6 out of your 7 are bang on - some of the best bloggers there are.

But Guido, for fucks sake?

Showing the way?

I wish I had half his traffic, or half his bloody advertising revenue, but as a blogger? Nah..

Constantly Furious 30 October 2009 15:28

.. and, from the site ...

"PLEASE NOTE: THE BLOG PRIZE IS SELF-NOMINATING (but feel free to encourage your favourites to enter).".

So this isn't like the Dale-a-thon.

Anonymous,  30 October 2009 19:07

Hey pogo,

Change the extreme right wing record - `do the dogma` and play the other side - extreme communism.

Your dogmatic extreme views just mark you out as an extremist crank!

Pogo 31 October 2009 20:28

Anon @ 19:07...

What the fuck are you on about?

The BNP are socialists - the fact that you appear to claim otherwise (as far as I can ascertain from your somewhat confused reply) merely highlights the fact that you've not read its manifesto.

To be governed is to be watched, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right nor the wisdom nor the virtue to do so. To be governed is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, counted, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, prevented, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished. It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted from, squeezed, hoaxed, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, hunted down, abused, clubbed, disarmed, bound, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, dishonoured. That is government; that is it's justice; that is its morality.
