Let them eat cake. But not here

Angry MPs today complained that half the seats reserved for them in one of the Palace of Westminster's cafes were now being made available to the general public.

A cross-party group of 15 MPs, led by Tory David Tredinnick (Bosworth), have tabled a Commons motion calling for the decision to be reversed.

They protested that the measure meant there was "often insufficient capacity" for MPs and guests in the popular Strangers' Cafeteria …

Other MPs who have signed the motion include: Labour's Michael Connarty (Linlithgow and Falkirk E); David Anderson (Blaydon); Alan Simpson (Nottingham S); Marsha Singh (Bradford W); Bill Etherington (Sunderland N); Mohammad Sarwar (Glasgow Central); and John Battle (Leeds W).

Tory MPs who have signed the motion include Edward Leigh (Gainsborough), Robert Syms (Poole), David Amess (Southend W).

Also signed up to the complaint are: SDLP leader Mark Durkan; DUP MP David Simpson (Upper Bann); Liberal Democrat Bob Russell (Colchester); and independent Richard Taylor (Wyre Forest).

Join me for some fucking cake on November 5th

Harman warns over expenses probe

Ms Harman said Sir Thomas was asked to look for over payments
Harriet Harman has warned that Sir Thomas Legg's review of MPs' expenses must be based on the "rules and standards that obtained at the time".

"To do anything else would be arbitrary," the Commons leader said.

history repeating?

During the Reign of Terror, at the height of the French Revolution, Marie Antoinette's husband was deposed and the royal family was imprisoned. Marie Antoinette was tried, convicted of treason and executed by guillotine on 16 October 1793, nine months after her husband.

i really do hope so!!!!!!

Oh the poor dears! So high on their own sense of importance - shame they're the only ones who think that.
