We Have No Allegiance But To The State

Berliners and the citizens of eastern Germany are struggling to digest the news that thousands of former members of the dreaded Stasi secret police were working as their local civil servants, police officers and teachers, almost 20 years after the Iron Curtain collapsed.

More than 17,000 staff currently employed by Berlin and eastern Germany's five federal states were estimated to have worked for the all-pervasive communist police organisation, according to evidence compiled by historians at Berlin's Free University.

The Independent

In all societies there is a class of people who believe that for personal advancement they should always 'serve' the State. It does not matter what the ideology of the State is, their petty bureaucratic Authoritarian minds will readily adapt to changes of Government.

It is the petty power and being part of the righteous that keeps them going. It is the mindset in Mandelson's 'post democratic' age that allows local authorities to put CCTV cameras in every street, to spy on your dustbins, to put adverts on the TV 'we know you live' etc, whilst defrauding the Taxpayer, failing on every level of competence, losing £1 Bn of our money in Iceland, then cooking the books to cover it up.

Lord Malloch-Brown resigned for 'family reasons' from an administration that he now states he has seen more strategic thinking in third world countries and in South America that he has seen in no 10.

The Germans should not be surprised that the Secret Police are still amongst them, we had the same here in post Civil War England, the turncoats protested their undying allegiance to the throne as equally fervently as they protested allegiance to the English Republic.

The Hydra that is the State has many heads, served by amoral people whose primary allegiance is to the State or the Corporation because their income is derived by sucking at the teat of the State.

For years we have been picked off one by one not until we expose in Court the likes of Blair and Mandelson, and the apparatchiks that sustain them and repress this country, The United Kingdom will never be free.

Anyone who seeks power over another should be treated with extreme suspicion, prescription drugs and water boarding.
Authority should be forced on people who don't want it and removed after a shortish period and never given back.A kind of jury system for picking leaders with draconian punishments for corruption.

The State operates on a production line.

No one person is responsible for executions, terror, bombing of civilians or deportations.

The process is broken down into thousands of little tasks, each seemingly innocent. However the typist who types the list of the deported to the labour camp is equally as guilty as the guard who pulls the trigger.

Do we have to do all that tiresome court stuff; can’t we get on with the main show, the executions?

Hung, drawn and quartered – live, at prime-time, and in HD. I doubt I could afford the price of a ring site seat, so its a few pints down the pub to watch it on the big screen with the lads for me.

The state becomes corrupt because it consumes and in the case of labour like a corporatist state.

I think we have been fed a diet of dumbing down , state has the answers , orwellian thinking .

Its wonk , you can never aspire to be anything other than what the party says you should be and you never get an idea promoted if your not a party member.

its the gramscian corporatist model , and its still wonk

I dread to think how many current government "employees" would fall into this category.

It would be a dammned sight more than 17,000...

Restoration England

Landscape design and restoration; The renewal conservation project

Following the areas of England mentioned in William Cobbets book ‘Rural Rides’ he cites in a number of places where great ancient Oak woods now mostly gone, I propose to restore them and the habitat associated with them

Secondly I propose restoring any areas of land mentioned in his rural rides, restoring them to organic vegetable production

Thirdly I propose that in order to save further land, and wild habitat being destroyed the cessation of immigration, all building development on green belt and any other piece of land.

I will also by extension have the current ‘environment minister’ replaced by someone who acres fro his country and not just the New World Orders communist Banksters

What an excellent article. I used to wonder how this government were getting away with their bulling manipulating and hectoring but as the article says there will always be those who will serve any state if they feel it secures their personal advancement. It may seem a wild leap but this theory explains how for example the regime in Nazi Germany got away with dealing with "dissidents" so ruthlessly.
It seems that there are enough people who are willing to serve any regime in just about any way if they perceive thats were their interests lie.

"the information they gleaned from spying on neighbours, friends and colleagues was used to imprison people, strip them of privileges and ruin careers."
Wow, Just Like Nu Labours Nu Britain.

Frankly I am surprised that anyone is surprised that many former statsi still work for the State. Most would have been mere functionaries whose function is to make the State function. Provided the Political will is there to ensure their loyalty to the new regime there should be no problem.

It is well known that post nazi Germany was never de-nazified fully because otherwise there would have been no administrators, doctors, teachers or engine drivers to get West Germany back on its feet.
Likewise the problems in post-war Iraq were greatly exacerbated by the idiotic decision to sack not only the Iraqi Army but also anyone who had been a member of the Ba'ath party ie almost everyone in the professions and academia who had wanted to further their career.

Should you edit the headline to correct "Sate"?

After 12 years of living in Germany, I left. I was simply unable to live by their rules. It is the inner core of the German that bred both Nazism and Marxism.

They simply cannot mind their own business. They are unable to refuse orders. There is no word in the German language for "bully".

Everything that is not expressly allowed is forbidden. And I do mean everything.

Living and working in Germany made me the Libertarian I am today.

To be governed is to be watched, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right nor the wisdom nor the virtue to do so. To be governed is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, counted, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, prevented, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished. It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted from, squeezed, hoaxed, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, hunted down, abused, clubbed, disarmed, bound, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, dishonoured. That is government; that is it's justice; that is its morality.
