Sorry if I have missed an important part of the narative here, but I understand the attack on democratically elected folk today was carried out by United Against Fascism, who are a different organisation to Searchlight.
I was reading up for a blogpost and it appears Searchlight resigned from UAF in 2005.

My wife - not renowned for any interest in politics, suddenly has. She is impressed by the courage of the BNP guys. Despite being subjected to physical and verbal attacks from all and sundry, they carry on. She feels that they have shown more moxie than the rest of the spineless goons in the main parties or the Police who have: backed out of a referendum on Lisbon (LibDem and Labour), chickened out of dumping their leader (Lab), and refused to promise a referendum on Europe (Con) and allow political violence (Police and the other political parties) . Interesting Times.

Their Achilles Heel is their membership criteria, a policy that I don't agree with. I expect that's what our ruling elites will use against them in their argument when they get round to banning the party.
