Police Arrest Police ?

Breaking News- that the Police who think 'waterboarding' suspects is OK are to be arrested.

The Police are out of control, all Chief Constables should be elected and held accountable for the actions of their officers.

'within days'... no rush then.

Man in the Street 10 June 2009 17:53

"... will be arrested and interviewed as criminal suspects within days."

WTF. If I had dropped a finished cig on the pavement 2 minutes ago I would have had my DNA collected by the mouth swab mob by now.

Dont be too harsh on plod ?

Targets have to be met !

The Penguin 10 June 2009 18:14

I blame "Life on Mars" and "Ashes To Ashes" plus endless repeats of "The Sweeney" for showing Inspector Knacker and his myrmidons how things were in the Good Old Days.

I mean, it's got to be more exciting beating a confession out of a suspect than filling in all those forms?

They'll get away with it - Plod always does - it's not just the politicians who are using Robert Mugabe as a role model.

Notice how quiet things have gone over all the G20 complaints & the death of Ian Tomlinson? Last detail I heard was that the cop charged wanted yet another post mortem & this had been ordered - this was weeks ago before the expenses scandal. I hope his family feel strong enough to create merry hell.

The NKVD, the premiere Soviet secret police force of World War 2 and
post World War 2, was a very strange organization. The NKVD not only
carried out intelligence, counter intelligence, special operations, and
partisan operations, but also was the major protector of the Soviet police
state for decades. The NKVD was also a huge army or nearly 60, mostly
motorized, combat divisions, that was more powerful and fanatical than
Hitler’s Waffen SS... Or the Nazi Labour party?

To most of the ' citizens' who remain to fight to the bitter end.

You are really. REALLY fucked!

Good luck.

Oh, and a special message of support to the righteous... so are you ?
You voted for it , and supported it? well you have got it ! enjoy.

If its caption comp

"reporter manges to get a picture smuggled out of last mondays PLP meeting"

As the PM boldly goes where no other pm has ever gone , we find him trying to regain parliment , a post PMQs policy iniative , too coo the liberals back , Nick clegg attacks tory cuts , so does PM , but wait treasuries own figures suggest another story (Fraser Nelson has it ).It seems gordon has used a gross figure and has not factored in the increased of the eye watering borrowings.

Yep its debt renamed as investment , supporting more people in hard times , but putting the economy on its backside (thus extending the hard times for whatever can be taxed )

A fog has descended , the economic entrails are being interpreted by new methods , of post modern art .
Its not a series of dots made of dung , its a policy , can you see what it is yet?

but then gordon promised us he had changed , so you would have thought that in an attack on cuts , he would have mentioned debt repayments or even how the taxation will be deployed to pay for the debt opps there i go again I mean debt .

Still not convinced about different voting systems , it is now obvious that one mp per constituancey would be under threat, waste of time for me , i thought it was funny that on DP show , no lib dem was available to discuss PR , the very thing they offer as cure year in year out.

New statuatory governing body for mps and lords , looks like standard socialist strategy , unelected body to control everyone .

No change in wonk factor for me.

whats up with fawkes ?? they are educating kids already to beware of extremeists in 16th century middleclass clothing , see dizzy.

should we now post blank just to comply to the rules ??

Rab C. Nesbitt 10 June 2009 18:36

Fucking Bollocks! Just more bullshit being fed to us.

Man in the Street 10 June 2009 18:40

Fawkes has gone 'global'.

Some dirtbag has their head flushed down the bogs. It's hardly water boarding. What a load of utter tosh.

Man in the Street 10 June 2009 19:04

Anony 18:52 - I take it you'd be happy if plod gave you the same treatment then.

dissolution of parliment lost by 52 votes , the ruiner escapes again

M de Plouquenet 10 June 2009 19:38

I enquired at Canada House about political asylum,I was told that Britain "is not a police state". In light of this new evidence peut-etre I should re-apply.

Odd Bill,  10 June 2009 20:12

In other news, Kate (not so) Humble is owned by her new male upstart!

killemallletgodsortemout 10 June 2009 20:15

I think Kate H showed her chuff last evening.

A red-beaked chough, to be precise.

Glenys Kinnock (in Barbados),  10 June 2009 20:26

killem etc. - Look you boyo!

Calm down dears.
What an excitable bunch you are. It was only a couple of stinking African illegals who were importing and supplying drugs.

I'm sure you'd all love them living next door to you - all fans of the delicious diversity that is multi-culti Britain.

Get some lives FFS.

Shit, my last hope was pinned on the dissolution of Parliament. Bet the Gurner & his Puppetmeister are chortling away. Anyone know who voted for/against?

Mr Insignificant 10 June 2009 22:06

I spoke to a retired old school copper who described the Met as 'an evil organisation'. In his assessment the Met has a culture of doing what they like and then spending their way out of trouble with out of court settlements where necessary.

VotR 10 June 2009 23:05

They will get off with no hassle, the Met love themselves, even if not many others do.
Turning into a bit of a panto season.

Expecting two coppers in a horse costume spreading the word to primary school kids that terrorists are evil and your family needs spying on next.

Henry Crun 11 June 2009 08:29

Ohhhh I don't know. If Gordon Brown was going to be waterboarded live in the House of Commons until he agrees to tell the truth about everything, then I'm all for it.

Henry Crun 11 June 2009 08:31

OH, I think you bleat a little too much. A few post up you are bemoaning the Jamaican gangsta with 12 kids driving an Audi TT as "the enemy".

If the police resort to "waterboarding" as a means of extracting information from these pieces of shit, then who are we to complain?

To be governed is to be watched, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right nor the wisdom nor the virtue to do so. To be governed is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, counted, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, prevented, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished. It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted from, squeezed, hoaxed, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, hunted down, abused, clubbed, disarmed, bound, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, dishonoured. That is government; that is it's justice; that is its morality.
