Lords suspended

Lords Truscott and Taylor are to be suspended for two years for taking bribes to change laws.

I'd suspend them from a rope. Changing laws that I have to live by for cash. Remarkable. True enemies of every citizen in the land.

Just got round to watching Newsnight from the 12th where Hazel Blears said:

"It isn't enough just to comply with the rules and the law, and that's why I've decided to send to the Inland Revenue a cheque which is the equivalent of what would have been paid in Capital Gains Tax had it been liable when I've moved flats whilst I've been an MP"

The thing is, as far as I know, if she's still not technically liable for that tax (the avoidance of which was the whole purpose of the scam she is now trying to distance herself from), if the Inland Revenue do accept the cheque the money will just be held "on account" against any future tax that she is liable for.

I'm pretty sure she can't subsequently make herself liable for tax that she has already successfully maneuvered her way out of so it all sounds like another scam on her part (i.e. imply that she's paying something back, when in fact she's just making a downpayment on future, unrelated, tax liabilities).

Any tax experts out there?

Abolish the Lords, packed with thieving bastards since 1066

Just how the fuck the whole political establishment has got the gall to continue making laws that affect the rest of us is beyond beleif. These dishonest cunts have no moral authority left and there should be a review of every law they've passed in the last 12 years. Fuck knows what motivations may have caused them to pass any particular piece of legislation but you can be pretty sure that their own interests were at the top of the list.

Cameron has paid back £680 so he's no better than the rest. How's he supposed to lead the country at some point in the future after doing that?

They aren't going to go. In fact, like a cornered beast, they're just as likely to start passing laws to repress us and the press even more. It's difficult to know who can sort them out.

Don't often agree with you Guthrum but agree with you on this.

Lord Death of Blackburn should be hung drawn and quartered.

Lord Truscott should merely be buried alive.

Thing is they don't! not 80% of the time anyway, their leaders sold that right long ago to the EUSSR and continue to sell what is left over for all the perks they can get!

They would send your children to gas chambers if the EU demanded it, for a new set of curtains!

They have already sent your children to die in illegal wars for the NWO.

Snape and the other 'taker' got away with a warning. Did you know Snape owns a sizable share in Travel West Midlands and National Express.

Will they get paid anything for their holiday?

First Lords suspended since the English civil war. Pity it's not from a rope though.

As the grand daughter and niece of former peers I resent the implication that all members of the HoL are thieving bastards. Neither my grandfather nor my uncle abused their expenses. Grandpa never claimed a penny for anything and he was not, by anyone's standards a rich man. My uncle very infrequently claimed money to stay in a crappy B & B in the few years between his ceasing to live in London and him being chucked out of the Lords in T. Blair's purge. They were both crossbenchers, mainly Tory but wanting the freedom to vote as they desired when they disagreed with party policy.Oh well, the Lords loss (of my uncle) was to the gain of a couple of well known animal charities who now benefit from his hard work (at nearly 80) as UNPAID chairman. I find the idea that they were unique inconceivable. They both understood that having been born into a title they had an obligation to both behave in a suitable manner and to 'give something back' and by God they did

When I see Liebour MP's squirming because they have been found out the refrain "The working class can kiss my arse as I've got the foremans job at last" keeps going through my mind.

I hope they get cancer.

To be governed is to be watched, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right nor the wisdom nor the virtue to do so. To be governed is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, counted, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, prevented, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished. It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted from, squeezed, hoaxed, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, hunted down, abused, clubbed, disarmed, bound, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, dishonoured. That is government; that is it's justice; that is its morality.
