Why bother voting Tory At the Next Election

The Tories are just another Statist party, wedded to the idea of high taxes and a large State.

There is absolutely no point taking the risk of setting up in business, employing people (because that is the only way back from this recession) if the State is going to confiscate half of your earnings. What is the point ?

Profits are derived from taking a risk, the Government wants half of the profit but does not want to take half of the risk. When it gets to the stage where even the Tories no longer understand that it is the wealth producing part of the country that underpins the bloated State, we are in a world of crap.

The Tories are a shoe in for the next election, because everybody is sick of Labour, but remember the Tories in charge of the economy the last time. Going into the ERM for political reasons at too high a rate against the DM, not on economic grounds.

This will not be a seismic shift in economic policy, it will be the Obamarisation of Parliament. Different bloke waving at the traffic, same car crash.

Update

Cameron to 'ringfence' Whitehall spending

But Whitehall is already forming the wagons against ANY cuts in their spending power.

Oh yes.
Most of Mister Cameron has to do in terms of public spending cuts is to promise to remove the huge apparatus of state-employed political activists in its junk ministries and get the Civil Service back to overseeing the few but necessary civilian functions of government. he needs to stop having quality-of life legislation alongside its accompanying bureaucracies and let the people run their own lives according to their own values, within the law.

He won't , of course, becasue he's Political Class through and through and just can't imagine a smaller, better, less intrusive State.

Don't write off ZaNuLab too soon.A half decent opposition would have well over 50% support, given the current set of "circumstances"
They have spent the last 12 years importing voters, whilst BluLab supporters have been deserting the sinking ship in their hundreds of thousands. Factor in the millions of welfare junkies, and the legions of people "employed" in non-jobs that will have to vote ZaNuLab. I believe it will not be the landslide everyone is predicting. Call me Dave will not be getting my vote, that's going to the BNP.

If income tax were abolished, the NHS and welfare state would have to go. Fine, they would be replaced by private medical insurance, affordable now because of higher income. The dolescum would have to get on their bikes, great.

What about universities? Where does their funding come from, in Libertarian Britain?

The Tories signed Maastricht. That's when our country really started to change for the worse.

Our border controls were ceceded circa 1984 - long before the advent of Nu Lab.

I say again. Britain is fucked. There is nothing you or I can do about it.

If you have the talent then leave.

(Sadly I don't)

Does anyone remember the cross-media hatchet job on David Davis' meaningless speech and the universal aclaim Cameron got for his meaningless speech in the tory leadership elections. Cameron is a company man. His training goes back so far they were probably tweaking him in the test tube. Nothing pleasant will come of his government.

Where it has always come from-the parents or like I did, working my way through University. You have to really want to get a degree that route.

Burseries and scholarships, from dare I say rich institutions/individuals who would like to make tax free donations to Univeristies, rather than hand over a shedload of money for Ed Balls to decide where it should be spent.

The Army/Navy/Airforce should also be able to issue degrees in technical subjects.

University Degrees have been so degraded in the last twenty years, sixty per cent of the 'new' univeristies should revert back to polytechnics rather than ape Universities.

The Branson's of this world did not need University degree's, mentoring from former business men/women, learning from real life,( but not from the hectoring style of Alan Sugar )

it is all on www.lpuk.org

Some of them however, are outperforming "real" universities.

What a bunch of pathetic defeatists. Get out and work for something and try and make a difference. I graft for The Conservative Party and am happy to criticise from within. This defeatist whingeing is grotesque in it's idleness and empty, puerile attitude. We have a political class you despise so much because 99% of the populace can't be arsed.
A bunch of chimps would be preferable to the shit we have. Shit most of you whining midgets voted for.
Pathetic. I'm off to a meeting. What's that quote about good men doing nothing? Be nice to have a handful of "good people".

Why are you grafting ? You can put a blue rosette on a chimp at the next election and it will get in, not because the Tories have any different policies, but because people want a 'change'

Call me Dave said at the last Tory conference he is not a Libertarian, I am so I will not be voting for a High tax/Big State party like the Tories.

If Carswell,Davis and Redwood think
that the Cameronian Conservative Party is something they can live with that down to them.

Who wants to vote Labour out, and replace them with a posher version.

Wake up.

I've just set up a new business, in a growth sector and am employing ten people.

It is based in Zug, Switzerland, where corporation tax is 9.5%, I'll pay 17% income tax and I am not forced by law to employ innumerate deaf, one legged black lesbians who want to sue me all day.

And I'm not the only one

You cannot create wealth by dividing it.

Oldrightie, I despise the tories even more than I despise ZaNuLab.
It was traitor Heath who conned us into the EUSSR and got rid of Powell. It was because your lot were so corrupt and unelectable that electorate fell for the charms of that snake oil salesman B liar and we are now in terminal decline. Your "leader" would be just as happy to be leader of the lib dems or lab if he thought they'd win the next election. Conservative? What exactly is he trying to conserve?

In mitigation for the ERM debacle - Mrs Thatcher's approval ratings shot up in the opinion polls after it was announced we were to join.

It was because WE - the people - wanted it!!!
(Though not me I hasten to add).

Britain gets the government it deserves...

Where do you clowns keep getting the idea that if you are anti-leftwing and visit a libertarian blog hosted by an outspoken libertarian, then you must be a Cammeron loving tory who needs to be converted to the BNP? Seriously guys, where?
