If the pieces fit...

Captain Apocalypse forgets to let the makeup staff finish.

I know there are many who think I'm just a paranoid nut. I hope I am. Yet I firmly believe there will be trouble at the G20 protests next week and that the Brown Gorgon is salivating at the prospect. Remember his face when the banks started falling? He loved every second of it. The man desires nothing more than chaos because he believes it makes him indispensible. So he causes chaos and then pretends to try to fix it but doesn't really try because it's the chaos, not the fixing, that he loves.

Why am I convinced of trouble next week? Firstly, because the police are actively soliciting it. Secondly, because a large part of the protests are being organised by Government-sponsored quangos. Not by spontaneous public groups. Not by the furious public. The protests are organised by Government lackeys and the police are gearing up for big trouble. Police statements sound like those announcements made by boxers before the big fight. They are not appealing for calm. They are playing up the 'there's going to be trouble and we're ready for it' line. Apparently Trafalgar Square has been prepared for battle.

It looks very much like a setup, a stage-managed riot in which a lot of innocent people will get hurt. None of the organisers will be damaged because they won't be there. The British haven't rioted to order so the Government is going to arrange it for us.

Watch for that Gorgon deathmask grin when the fighting starts. Then watch the new laws appear as if by magic, almost as if they hadn't been already prepared beforehand. Watch more of our liberties vanish.

Most of all, watch out for that civil contingencies act.

Old Holborn said...

There are 646 of them. There are 60,000,000 of us.

No civil contingences Act can contain that many angry people.

"Right you lot, calm down. Or else"

Or else what?? For every one of you, there are 92,500 of us.

And yes, I'll be first in line.

USSR GONE, East Germany GONE.

All it takes is courage. They brought us here to the wilderness. You can be damn sure they are not going to take us to the promised land.

All the socialist states eventually fall apart but they get to cause a great deal of pain on the way.

This one is going down too, but they'll take as many as they can along with them.

The Filthy Engineer said...

From what I can see, the Police are stirring up trouble. I think they have underestimated the deep revulsion by the public to this corrupt government.

If they break up a demo with undue force on one day, they may face the hurricane the next day.

I suggest that the Police tone down their comments, otherwise ,they will reap what they have sowed.

I do feel that if ministers try to invoke the civil contingencies act then parliament will have to be dissolved. There will be too many dissenters that will oppose it.

Gordon may rue the day that this act was allowed on the staute book.

Old Holborn said...

Leg Iron,

I don't disagree

But this is a cold bath we will eventually have to get out of. We may shiver, we may grasp frantically for the towel, we may hop on one foot and watch our breath freeze on the mirror, but Brown can only suggest we piss in our own bath water to warm it up a bit.

Get active. Or freeze to death. Or drown in your own piss.

I'm getting out and I'm getting dressed. I don't care if it's a hair shirt.

Cato said...

I agree with what of much you say. I'm sure there will be trouble next week but it will be caused by a multitude of foreign anarchists and not many Brits.

I doubt very much that the police will be actively soliciting trouble. What fool goes out of his way to invite a beating? Would you? I wouldn't.

You say the protests are organised by government lackeys. Who are they?

You say the police are gearing up for big trouble. It's a non sequiter given that foreign anarchists will be causing virtually all of it.

You say that Trafalgar Square has been prepared for battle. Sounds to me more like what they do with Eros every New Year's Eve.

I'm as anti this shower of shit as anyone but I'm afraid you're getting a tad paranoid.

Old Holborn said...

Switzerland is to be part of the EU.Sorry,O'H.

Not a chance.

They have democracy in Switzerland.

Popular Initiative: 100,000 citizens (roughly 2.5% of the electorate) may demand for a change of the constitution by signing a form. The federal parliament is obliged to discuss the initiative, it may decide to recommend or to reject the initiative or it may propose an alternative. Whatever they choose to do, all citizens will finally decide in a referendum whether to accept the initiative, the alternate proposal or stay without change.

Can you name the Prime Minister of Switzerland? The President?

Neither can they.

Good. Ask them who their local mayor is and chances are they got pissed with him on Friday night.

I think you over estimate their ability to organise anything. Conspiracy is great in theory, reality is usually much simpler.

Most of this just seems to be the usual types who turn up to any protest. Even while I support the principle of objecting to certain government actions, there's no way I'd back the actions of the greens, lefties, idiots and anarchists who make up the majority at every one of these things - supporting the protest might make it look like people think all their ideas are right.

Even a more 'popular' protest would mostly be backing stupid ideas that wouldn't actually help them at all because sadly the majority are ignorant. This is exactly what most politics relies on, so you can be sure there'd be someone somewhere taking advantage.

Good luck though OH, at least by turning up it might help balance things the right way.

I agree and disagree. I don't think the CCA is really on the cards.

The Righteous believe they can contain the protest. For them, the real disaster would be if the protest never stopped, if it kept growing, with every day, more and more people coming to London. But force would be counter-productive. There is a better way. Their tactic is to subvert the protest and change its meaning.

Leg-iron observes that the protest is being sponsored by the Establishment. Nail on the head. The Trots and the Greens and the trade unionists are the people who will get main stream media airtime; nobody will speak for ordinary people. Instead of being a protest against Government control, it turns into a protest in favour of Government control. No CCA is needed. The ordinary people will go home in frustration, their voices silenced by the Establishment-approved far-Leftists.

Brown is playing with forces that he could not possibly understand. He thinks he is in control but he is not. He is on very shaky ground indeed and if he acts in an authoritarian manner then his goose will be well and truly cooked. I supsect that there are people in high places who are just waiting for such a mistake. He thinks that he can control events but he can't. He is not doing the playing, he is being played. It will make good theatre, a new Shakespearian age perhaps.

Cameron is not going to want to set up some tradition of the previous shower being punished by a new govt for obvious reasons. If ZaNu go for broke to create their full-on tyranny and FAIL (and they have failed at everything else) it is very probable that they will not be ending their days in undisturbed prosperity but more likely in jail. Then again if they succeed in creating their tyranny it will depend on the military to keep it going. The Army are not ZaNu fans and, although there are arsekissers in the top ranks, the forces are not politicised enough. If you were a General ruthless enough to have your men shoot Britions in their own streets how long would you take orders from this clot of Socialist scum?. I hope that's all it is. Really.

Although I don't think the Gorgon is capable of an organised set-up like this, and neither are the idiots he has let loose on us with his quangos and little committees, what they are doing is likely to have repercussions they haven't thought of.

They are the sort who think bricking a banker's windows or burying a hammer in someone's head are legitimate forms of political discourse. They are very dangerous idiots indeed.

They are the ones who will start trouble and the police have already said they are 'up for it', effectively issuing a challenge to the bricks and hammers party. There will only be a few who will start trouble but it will spread.

Even if only one percent of that protest is violent, that one percent is all we will see on our screens.

Then the Gorgon won't need to persuade the public to accept the CCA. They'll beg him to do it.

And he will. With a smile.

With any luck I'm being paranoid. I hope so.

The man desires nothing more than chaos because he believes it makes him indispensible. So he causes chaos and then pretends to try to fix it but doesn't really try because it's the chaos, not the fixing, that he loves.

You may be paranoid but that does not mean, etc...

This is basic stuff in any revol-yooshenry handbook. It was why Lenin fomented war as the ideal (quickest) precursor for seizing power. In the early days of the British Communist Party it was fundamental that street level cadres sought out grievances (poor housing etc.) and used promises to fix them to secure a popular mandate. The Communists were never going to be popular in Britain because the British had lost their taste for revolution before the Socialist dream was born, but it remains a core socialist tradition, and still thrives in Scottish Labour politics which, tragically for us, now dominate the government of Britain.

There is farce in the innate incompetence of socialists to conduct the business of government (cf. Gordon Brown) because their creed is essentially that of those denied power but desiring it: the complainer, the powerless, the vengeful, the ‘class warrior’ (‘it’s all HIS fault’), the rioter. Socialists want power because someone else has it, not because they want to use it for good, or are more capable than others of doing so. The true socialist mentality will be visible on the streets this week (alongside the well-meaning). Ruiners.

The farce of the socialists’ incompetence when in power is balanced by the tragedy which inevitably follows their acquisition of it (cf. Gordon Brown and all Labour PMs passim). You say Brown doesn’t try to fix the problem but I think perhaps he does, if only up to a point, because he is sufficiently vain to believe that he can and he would be unable to resist any opportunity to prove to himself and the disbelieving world that he is superior to his rivals because he is right about everything. Omniscient if not impotent, and the latter only because he is held back by irritations like the constitution (and yes, we do have one, hence his lust for 'constitutional reforms'). This, of course, is the worst possible outcome: a half-hearted, half-cocked attempt at actual governance by a deluded and vain incompetent.

As to this week, a breakdown of civil order would be a disaster for anyone wanting this risibly vain and incompetent man and his evil government thrown out. Was it you who said 'If we don't riot, Labour will be destroyed at the next election. If we riot, there won't be one'? Never a truer word.

For all our sakes, keep calm and carry on. It's just a matter of time before we are rid of them, perhaps for a generation. We must hope.

Yes my spelling poor, and I am already trying hard and i am well aware of it, my spelling and grammer have in fact improved dramatically over the last 5 years. See, I Had a piss poor education and my mind works on logic, and with spelling not being completely logical i find it a little confusing.

However making serious and in depth points i have no problem with regardless of my spelling.

I can see even with my limited spelling ability that your attempt to demean me and my point using such a method was both crass and pathetic.

Everyone but the spelling Nazis appear to be aware of this, so unfortunately for you, everytime you highlight someones poor spelling you actually expose your puffed up sense of superiority by exposing what would aoppear to be a limited intelligence!

In my view someone of superior intelligence would not feel the need to resort to such crass superfluous observations!

But i do agree on one thing - we shall see, which is why i stated that it was only my view and not an absolute fact!

Have a nice day.

Spelling Nazis list of people who lack credibility -

Albert Einstein - (March 14, 1879 – April 18, 1955) Being one of the most important
great minds of his century Albert Einstein was then known to suffer from dyslexia
mainly because of his bad memory and his constant failure to memorize the simplest
of things. He would not remember the months in the year yet he would succeed in
solving some of the most complicated mathematical formulas of the time without any
trouble. He may have never learned how to properly tie his shoelaces but his scientific
contributions and theories still have a major effect on all of todays current knowledge
of science.

Alexander Graham Bell - (3 March 1847 - 2 August 1922) Well known as the inventor of
the telephone Alexander was actually attempting to find a way that could make deaf
people hear. His mother was slowly becoming deaf when Alexander was only 12 years
old making him extremely sensitive to disabilities. Once older he was constantly
seeking a way to cure them through technology. He himself had dyslexia which would
cause him problems at school, but he always kept his interest for science,
especially biology. He would show a great indifference for everything else
and would have poor grades. Today Alexander Graham Bell is also well know as
one of the founders of the National Geographic society.

Hans Christian Andersen - (April 2 1805 - August 4 1875) Being an author of
children's fantasy stories, he was a victim of dyslexia and showed the world
that when you want something, nothing can stop you from obtaining it. The books
that he wrote have been translated into hundreds of different languages and
continue to be distributed even today in millions of copies. Hans wrote books
such as "The Emperor's New Clothes", "The Princess and the Pea" "Thumbelina",
"The Snow Queen", "The Ugly Duckling" and "The Little Mermaid".

Leonardo Da Vinci - Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci, (April 15, 1452 – May 2, 1519)
was a Tuscan polymath: scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist,
painter, sculptor, architect, botanist, musician and writer. As an engineer,
Leonardo conceived ideas vastly ahead of his own time, conceptualising a helicopter,
a tank, concentrated solar power, a calculator, and the double hull, and outlining
a rudimentary theory of plate tectonics. He also had the gift of dyslexia. Most of
the time, he wrote his notes backwards. Although unusual, this is a trait shared by
many left-handed dyslexic people. Most of the time, dyslexic writers are not even
consciously aware that they are writing this way.

Thomas Edison - Thomas Alva Edison (February 11, 1847 – October 18, 1931) was an
American inventor of Dutch origin and businessman who developed many devices that
greatly influenced life around the world, including the phonograph and a long lasting
light bulb. In school, the young Edison's mind often wandered. He was noted to be
terrible at mathematics, unable to focus, and had difficulty with words and speech.
This ended Edison's three months of official schooling. The cause of Edison's deafness
has been attributed to a bout of scarlet fever during childhood and recurring
untreated middle ear infections. Thomas Edison was dyslexic, a problem child, and a
mischief-maker. He talked when he was supposed to be listening and did not listen
when the teacher talked. He had no patience. He was not well-coordinated and did
poorly in sports. He applied himself with a passion to whatever caught his attention,
but his attention was easily diverted.

Richard Branson - Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson (born 18 July 1950) is an
English entrepreneur, best known for his Virgin brand of over 360 companies.
Richard Branson has been involved in a number of world record-breaking attempts
since 1985, when in the spirit of the Blue Riband he attempted to cross the Atlantic
Ocean in the fastest recorded time. Branson has dyslexia, resulting in poor academic
performance as a student. School was something of a nightmare for him. He was the
captain of football, rugby union and cricket teams, and by the age of fifteen he had
started two ventures that eventually failed, one growing Christmas trees and another
raising budgerigars.

Point two. Thats a very interesting and informative essay but its kind of irrellevent. The shitty spelling and grammar being sprayed around has less to do with dyslexia and more to do with poor proof reading of posts.
Point three. When Einstein, Eddison, Da Vinci, Bell et al published their shit, do you think they handed in garbled Burrowsesque manuscripts or do you think they got some help to make them presentable? Or do you think E=MC2 has as much validity as Q=hh7 just as long as folks get the jist?
