Government running out of money

I had an argument about six weeks ago with some tendy lefty over the consequences of HMG running out of money. Being a publically paid college lecturer and brighter than the average bear, he snorted The Government will not run out of money."Thats rubbish and you know it".

This morning it has hit home in the Guardianistas homeland 'education' that 144 colleges are going to be technically insolvent because the Government has run out of money to fund building projects on campuses.

It is slowly dawning on these halfwits that their party of choice (Education,Education,Education) has dropped the ball bigtime. All of the billions collected from us by threats and fines, has been thrown at the banks. There is very little left for unemployment benefit let alone an ambitious college building programme.

They are realising now that 'Government money' is in reality taxpayers money, and that having 49 % of the population supporting 51% of those in the public sector does not work, especially when it is the private sector taking the hit.

The Ministry of Defence is also desperately short of money. The primary duty of any Government is the Defence of the Realm, under Nu Labour it is seventh in terms of priority. That is why we are beholden to foreign powers to look to our defence, like the United States. This is delusional, the UK is not the United States first priority, the United States is.

The Government has all the hallmarks of a business going bust, 'debtors' no longer able to pay their bills on time,or are going out of business, the list of 'creditors' is growing, and cashflow is getting worse by the week, yet you have a management still taking on staff and spending like there is no tomorrow on current items, whilst putting capital projects on hold. The Managing Director is in denial, cannot see that he has done anything wrong, and the Board of Directors are too scared to remove him.

The Middle management of Government Plc are resigned to the fact the company is going to go dowm, and are busy stealing as many benefits and biros as they can before the receivers arrive.

Constitutionally only the Queen can dismiss the Government, and why should the Monarchy bother to take the risk of calling in the receivers.

Only the creditors are the ones that are going to call time, the fact that the Government have had the Police training for civil disturbance since last summer, proves that the Managing Director has been knowingly trading insolvently.

Update:

Gordon follows the Mexican Business Model.

"This is very common in Mexico. They come up with huge projects, start them off and all of sudden nothing happens," Cervantes said. "Some people say the state does not have any money and keeps making announcements to protect the economy from the global economic crisis. There might be some truth to this."

Absolutely right.

I had one of these half wits tell me that it would be us bailing out the IMF and not the other way round when I dared say that we could go bankrupt.

If we don't have the IMF to go to where CAN we go ???

I think we're in deep DEEP shit. Especially when the lawless benefits class find out that there's no money left.

(WV = busting)

Yet they are still wasting millions on advertising each and every day on both the radio and TV.
On LBC every other advert is a Government funded threat or useless information.
Plus the non jobs inventions in the public sector grows day by day.
I have just received my new Council tax which has massive increases for people that simply cannot afford it whilst the pensions bill for the Council just rises and rises.

The figures are actually A LOT WORSE THAN 49-51. You need to figure in the non working as well. In NZ the ratio is around 33% supporting the rest of the country. I would suspect that in England (and the succubus area to the north and west) the ratio is a lot worse. A fine mess you lot have made of my country while I have been away.
On another note.. Hi E-K, good to see you leaving your mark around the place again.

Note that Faisal Islam had the cojones to whisper that the QE in the States is a stealth devaluation.

This is what happened here and is continuing to happen here.

All the while tax revenues are falling.

And what does the government do? Spends money on "job creation". That is like a man standing in a bucket trying to lift himself up by the handle.*

* yes I know it is a WSC quote re taxes and poverty, but it applies here too.

As someone who was part of this system, albeit on a contract basis, but was squeezed out for being less than contrite about slavery and any other number of their pathetic pc causes I now revel in schadenfreude at the misfortunes about to befall them.

Do I miss seeing Godwit, Halfwit and Fuckwit in the auditorium. Nope. They shouldn't have been there anyway, but getting sink estate kids into university to hit targets is just another vainglorius Nuliebore clusterfuck.

So this former lecturer of Middle European history is now sat on his arse, paid from the neck down and driving a large truck around the country, and strangely there isn't that much difference in my income.

I count myself lucky at having served in the forces which has left me mentally fucked with PTSD but multi-disciplined. Can't have it all.

Printing money didn't work for Weimar, hasn't worked for that Golliwog Mugabe, didn't work in Hungary, nor in Russia, and it's not gonna work for that unelected trouser pissing, snot gobbling cuntard who hasn't got a decent fuck in him, let alone any balls to admit his fuck ups. Integrity is not in his limited vocabulary.

It is though a pity that academia should itself suffer, but the pratts are the authors of their failures.

wv diseness wtf hopefully incurable

"Yet they are still wasting millions on advertising each and every day on both the radio and TV".

There is a very good reason for this Anon 09.00, ITV is actually insolvent, business is not paying for advertising because in the real world the first thing that goes in hard times is the Advertising budget.

The Government are putting all of their threats on TV and we are paying for it, as a public subsidy because NuLabour cannot afford for the telly to go off, because at that stage the thickest of the thick will realise that there is something not quite right, when Coronation Street does not appear.

The Meeja are in a terrible mess, Channel 4 and 5 are having to be forced to combine. If the State goes bust and nobody pays their TV licence, (I understand that they are no longer prosecuting non payers). The BBC will have to shut down.

The Labour voting proles will get a bit tense with no telly and no lager, and the BNP will be dancing for joy as they look for somebody to blame.

The only thing I learned in Uni was how to sell dope. A skill I trust to see me through these interesting times.

Leeds Met (LMU) will probably be the first uni to go bust. Over the last couple of years they've decided they're property developers and have been playing the market big-time.

They spent £22m building a new grandstand at Headingley; they sponsor God only knows how many rugby cricket and football teams (Leeds Tykes,Leeds RL, Yorkshire Cricket, Bradford City, the Rugby League and more); they're buying offices that the Council couldn't give away; they're building five (I think) massive skyscrapers in Leeds City Centre; the Chancellor's resigned and the VC has been ousted.

They haven't a hope in hell of avoiding bankruptcy and with their academic standards the sooner they go the better.

I'm so old I can remember when there were Universities, and Polytechnics.

And an education system that seemed to work pretty well, and gave working class kids a ladder up if they were bright enough and worked hard enough.

Ah- talking of ladders- this shower enjoyed 'free grant aided education' in the sixties/seventies and now have pulled the ladder behind them, with student debt they never had to pay back.

Yet there is still government money being pissed around.

I was recently at a business networking shindig, and almost everyone was talking about how things were in the crapper, strategies for finding clients in tough times etc. All except the people involved in green industries. They're all growing, have heaps of money to play with.

And they're only being kept going because the taxpayer is funding various stupid schemes.

The magic Snotty delusionary bullet is quantative easing. The only easing will be the ease other countries refuse to trade without solid gold support for the trade. Therefore we shall have to fall back on our gold reserves to survive.
What's the problem? Pardon? I can't hear you. What!!!!!!

Well yes, you'd think that - but of course keeping public service 'workers' (i.e. NHS beaurocrats, local authority layabouts, etc) in a job is what will keep this bunch of gangsters in power. Turkey's would hardly vote for Christmas.

Hmmm. Fiscal and monetary responsibility vs Brown keeps his job... wonder which one he'll opt for.

I hear that the private sector are shedding jobs by the hundred thousand but employment in the public sector is actually rising!

'But this is good' they cry. 'It stimulates the economy'.

It does huh? And what do these non-jobs add to our productivity exactly. They seem to think that simply going to work creates wealth. Bleeding imbeciles.

Then again, I had the misfortune to catch 'Wimmin's Hour' on Radio 4 the other day talking to Harpie-Harman about why 'wimmin' would suffer more in this recession and asking how legislation could be brought in to help them keep their jobs and then we hear on Newsnight last night that for every ONE woman that is losing her job there are TWO men losing their's..

Funny old World ain't it.

Off for a spot of light but delicious lunch before the march and tear gas in Toulouse.

Nice day for it too.

I just wish that such as today across France could be done in the UK.

Gordon doesn't allow it.

You got it.

I recently got planning for a housing scheme (not that it's worth building now of course) and as part of the process of box-ticking I had to have various eco surveys to establish whether there were bats or badgers on site.

£6,000 later we establish that there are none.

The consent comes through with 26 planning conditions including conditions to cover all foundation trenches at night to stop badgers falling in to them and to build a bat roost to relocate the non-existent bats!

This country is run by gangsters and managed by incompetent, lazy jobsworths.

PS The site was a shitty inner-city boozer - hardly in an area of outstanding natural beauty..

Why doesn't Broon print some money, ie fuckin loads, pass it to is mates in the City, move it all over the fucking place, Caymans, Vanuatu, Bongo Bongp Land, swap it for $€ Yen and buy up loads of gold?

OK maybe illegal, immoral and who the shit cares. When the market wakes up we have cornered it.

I can't find it anywhere on google now** but I seem to remember a few weeks back Brown talking of the UK giving about £24bn to the IMF as part of a fund to stabilise it. Since we didn't have it, it would have to be printed. Now we're about to be globally quantitatively eased - by the IMF:

wheelbarrows needed

** In fact there are quite a few things I can no longer find in google search - like the complete text of the Lisbon Treaty with footnotes, appendices and protocols still intact. Even youtube seems to have more 'unavailable' vids these days.

Tim Carpenter said... Note that Faisal Islam had the cojones to whisper that the QE in the States is a stealth devaluation.

Too true.

QE is a tax-like surcharge on all assets, savings and income denominated in the "eased" currency. Whoever receives and spends the newly printed currency, does so by extracting value from existing holders and users of that currency - this loss of value will, at best, manifest itself as subsequence price inflation or, at worst, catastrophic currency devaluation with all attendant consequences.

It's no surprise that Brown, pitifully shabby creep that he his, would be attracted to this kind of fakeass plecebo economics - it's a logical extension of his existing "business model".

BROWN MUST BURN.

Anonymous said...

Regarding the great ejukation debate. It was one of those aspirational numbers that both parties bought into. People wanted houses in the 50's and 60's - so they built council ones. They wanted their own houses by the 80's, so they got crappy boxes and mega mortgages to pay for them.

And so with edjukation. Universities have been expanded to give us around 50% of the populus eventually having degrees. No thought is given to what the hell use are the qualifications. What jobs will the graduates be able to do? What subjects do we need to train people to higher degree level in now that we make a living selling houses to each other?

There are a few exceptions, but mostly we don't need the graduates we have, they don't need to have degrees, they don't earn any more than they would have if they hadn't bothered. What a fucking waste of resources and time.

One place that huge cutbacks could be made to the long term advantage of our economy would be closing down the universities and going back to the situation where the best 10% went to higher education like happened in the 60's.

We are all being conned. You don't really need a degree to work in Starbucks- even an arts degree.

Well said Charcoal I live very close to the plastic poly.
The two "lecturers" I know from there through friends are thick as a bucket of bricks and I pity anyone who has paid to get shat through that insitution.
I imagine Britain is littered with thousands of these useless excuses for places of further education, anyone with a brain would avoid such toxic environments.
I would rather employ a sixteen year old drop out who has a bit enthusiasm than a graduate of these ridiculous courses they have the cheek to charge money for.
