Gert Wilders banned from the UK

You know that dutch MP bloke with the weird hair, the one who has made a film about the dangers of Islamic fundamentalism called Fitna?

Well, his little film was to be shown to the House of Lords, even though Lord Ahmed threatened to round up a mob of 10,000 screaming Muslims to storm Parliament.

Well, in the interests of "peace", he's just been banned from entering the UK. An elected European Politician is now "persona non grata" says Jack Straw. Yet we allow convicted Muslim terrorists to live here. Nice one!

This afternoon Mr. Wilders received a letter from the British ambassador to the Netherlands saying that he is a “persona non grata” in the United Kingdom. The ambassador told Mr. Wilders that he is a threat to public security and public harmony because of the controversy created by Fitna. Mr. Wilders intends to go to London anyway. “Let them arrest me in Heathrow,” he says.

If Mr. Wilders is denied entry to the United Kingdom, it will be the first time that Britain refuses entry to an elected politician from another member state of the European Union. The Dutch government has lodged formal objections with the British government over the unprecedented barring of an EU parliamentarian by another EU country.

The meeting of Mr. Wilders and members of the British Parliament had originally been planned for 29 January, but
was postponed. Lord Nazir Ahmed, a Muslim member of the House of Lords (Labour), had threatened to mobilize 10,000 Muslims to prevent Mr. Wilders from entering the British Parliament. Lord Ahmed boasted in the Pakistani press that the cancellation of Mr. Wilders’ visit was “a victory for the Muslim community.”

Lord Pearson could not bear the thought that the “mother of all parliaments” might be perceived as giving in to threats. Hence he decided to reinvite Mr. Wilders.
Black Rod, the head of security at the House of Lords, has ordered extra security for the event.

Dear Mr Wilders
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the Secretary of State is of the view that your presence in the UK would pose a genuine, present and sufficiently serious threat to one of the fundamental interests of society.
The Secretary of State is satisfied that your statements about Muslims and their beliefs, as expressed in your film Fitna and elsewhere, would threaten community harmony and therefore public security in the UK. You are advised that should you travel to the UK and seek admission an Immigration Officer will take into account the Secretary of State's view. If, in accordance with regulation 21 of the immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006, the Immigration Officer is statisfied that your exclusion is justified on grounds of public policy and/or public security, you will be refused admission to the UK under regulation 19. You would have a right of appeal against any refusal of admission, exercisable from outside the UK.
Yours sincerely,
Irving N. Jones
On behalf of the Secretary of State for the Home Department

Well perhaps the Dutch government could have done more to show their support for Mr. Wilders in the first place, for instance, backing him up in his stance against Islamification. Well. It seems any citizen of any member state is legally able to enter, reside and work in any other member state as long as it suits our masters. No matter what they'vedone, no matter what connections to terrorist groups they might have, we are legally obliged to accomodate them.

Widers is no threat to security. The Army of 10,000 Loonies is a threat to security. We know who heads that army so why is he running around free?

Most of all, where's the UK MP willing to stand up and say this is wrong?

We can't rely on our government at all now. We're on our own.

I don't see Wilders threatening to kill anyone or blow anyone up - do you?

Besides you are totally and deliberately missing the point, that freedom of speech is now dead, either through insane left wing totalitarian political ideology or threats of violence -

again neither comming from Mr Wilders.

Now run along, school tomorrow!

Wilders' Manifesto (Wiki):

1. Banning Islamic headwear in public functions

2. Ending all admittance of asylum seekers

3. Creating a maximum limit of 5000 political refugees

4. Creating a 5 year moratorium on bride taking from foreign countries

5. Cutting taxes dramatically

6. Decreasing the number of civil servants by half

7. Stopping enlargement of the EU

8. Changing prisoner laws to house 5 in one cell

9. Building feeding camps and discipline schools

10. Expanding the police while using the army within public zones

11. Deporting criminals with a dual nationality

12. Banning Islamic schools,

13. Test school children about the Dutch national identity

14. Reorganizing the provinces and government system

15. Closing the Dutch Senate

16. Limiting public television to a single channel

5, 6, 7: fair enough, but at what price? would you trust this man with your liberty? you dim cunt. he's constructed a political career upon the vilification of a major world religion, yet claims he has no beef with the followers of that faith. do you believe him? 9, 10, 16: wilders has an obvious penchant for 'camps' and army control, so no wonder the muslims are 'up in arms' - although, as yet, i have not heard lord ahmed and company threatening to blow wilders, or anyone else, up. are you against public demonstration? or just the fanciful sort? hopefully the latter is more applicable, as your healthy imagination will be key to survival in a state with only one public tv channel. i'll give you a tip about defending free speech: don't spend too much time and energy supporting totalitarian nutjobs. all-in-all, your concerns about freedom of expression would appear to be completely disingenuous - stick them up your arse. oh sorry, silly me, that's what you talk out of!

i suppose you think the recent wars in gaza, lebanon, iraq and afghanistan were just peaceful demonstrations which got a little out of hand?

has it escaped your attention that these vehement protests may have been as much a reaction to a few hundred thousand civilian dead in iraq and afghanistan as to some rather sick cartoons - cartoons which would have had no impact on a free middle east and which would have been pretty much ignored as insignificant relics.

when i say 'FUCK YOU!' do you expect me to come round your house and stick my nob in?

Leg-Iron "Widers is no threat to security. The Army of 10,000 Loonies is a threat to security." I agree, and that is presumably Straws point.

They used this same spurious line of arguing when they decided that anyone using the Cross Of St. George was a threat to public order since the NNF/BNP used it, therefore anyone else using it must be NF/BNP too and likely to 'enrage Muslims and 'activists'.

As I recall it was the overwhelming use of the flag by all sections of the public during an England run in the World Cup that got this nonsense stopped, for a while at least.

Back O/T the strawman has not thought this through at all, Gert Wilders should stick to his guns and even if the Beeb ignore his arrival the foreign press have plenty of notice, not least Al Jezzera. This will run and run.

OH said "Leg Iron made it perfectly clear that there are no heroes. It's up to us."

Absolutely, the following song "Search for the Hero" by M People says it all really!

Sometimes the river flows but nothing breathes.
A train arrives but never leaves.
It's a shame.
Oh life like love that walks out of the door.
Of being rich or being poor.
Such a shame.
But it's then, then that faith arrives.
To make you feel at least alive.
And that's why you should keep on aiming high.
Just seek yourself and you will shine
You've got to search for the hero inside yourself.
Search for the secrets you hide.
Search for the hero inside yourself.
Until you find the key to your life.
In this life long and hard though it may seem
Live it as you'd live a dream.
Aim so high.
Just keep the flame of truth burning bright.
The missing treasure you must find.
Because you and only you alone.
Can build a bridge across the stream.
Weave your spell in life's rich tapestry.
Your passport to a feel supreme.
Chorus.

You've got to search for the hero inside yourself.

Bring in Wilders and call Lord Ahmed's bluff. Let him bring his army. It would show the fundamental Islamists as distinct from the rest of the muslim population. It would show how craven the Police are to said fundamentalists. It would show them all as afraid of a simple film.

The answer to such things is not to ban them but to debate them. If there are innaccuracies in Fitna spell them out. If you are offended by Fitna then say so. If you just think it's a bit shit, say so. But do not try to stamp on other people's chance to see Fitna. To discuss Fitna. To dissect it's argument in the open.

Prohibition never stopped anything.

Fitna, as with fundamental Islamists, as with the BNP; demonise them to the point of no one being allowed to even discuss it and you give them a power far greater than they deserve. Expose them to the bright sunlight of reasoned, grown up debate and these issues will wither. The problem with this is that to have such a grown up debate both sides have to stand for something. We have a political class that stands for nothing.

Maybe they think we are a bit dim. And maybe we are. Hordes of foaming Islamists would not help religious relations.

Discraced killer 'Lord' Ahmed had a half hour interview on Radio 4 today ( +/- 13.30pm ) during which he claimed that he had recieved 'hundreds, er, thousands of threatening e-mails and letters' following Gert Wilders earlier invitatation to show FITNA to the House Of Lords which proved what a menace Wilders was to Great Britain.
At no point did killer Ahmed , the BBC presenter or the Balance Interviewee ( Lord Wotsit of Rannoch ) point out that those e-mails and letters were in response to said Discraced Killer 'Lord' Ahmeds call for 10,000 Jihadists to decend upon Parliament. Without even asking permission from the new head of the Met.

BTW OH, WTF is the " Home Department, " a branch of Home & Colonial ?

Interesting that Labour peer Lord Ahmed (currently awaiting sentence for dangerous driving on the M1) was just now interviewed on the BBC regarding the banning of Dutch MP Geert Wilders. For Ahmed it was, in 2005, who hosted a book launch in the House of Lords for anti-Zionist author Israel Shamir.

Shamir's views include urging Jews to drop Judaism and convert to Christianity, belief in the Jewish blood libel, Jewish involvement in recent massacres, that there is a Jewish conspiracy to control the press and, reportedly, also suggested that the large Muslim population in Britain was important to turn the tide of 'Judaic Values' in Britain.

He claims his intervention over Wilders is, "a victory for the Muslim community". I think he's quite right. Whether free speech is the loser is another matter. There seems to be one rule for him - and another rule for him, too

i am not religious, so your question is 'academic' to me. religious doctrine discourages people from thinking for themselves and this can result in the vulnerable being exploited by extremists. in general, the muslims with whom i come into contact are not extremist in their beliefs.

i have read neither the qu'ran nor mein kampf, but since mussolini described mein kampf as a 'boring tome', i doubt whether anyone would consider it to be conceived from divine inspiration...

...and containing, as it does, a good dollop of race-hate, the chances of mein kampf becoming the holy scripture central to a successful religion are very fucking small indeed. 'holy verses' also tend to be expressed in a poetical form - ripe for interpretation; the prescriptions of mein kampf would not appear to leave much to the individual imagination - in fact, it could itself more accurately be described as an interpretation...of the bible.
