He didn't appear to "almost knock someone over" to me. You are just as likely (if not more so) to be barged out of the way by groups of arrogant kids, or women laden down with shopping. Good luck to him, I couldn't do that at my age (53), never mind 71! I'm sure the real reason behind the prosecution is that he is "not conforming", and must therefore be seen as a threat.

Keep it up, Geoff, by all means! Herbert von Karajan and Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands went skiing well into their seventies. People do all kinds of sports at that age, and nobody minds. It may be just that for many people skating is associated with kid stuff, and that's what makes us look funny to them (I'm a skating pensioner in Germany). But never mind, I met an 81-year old skater here in Dortmund, Germany, jast year, who told me - same as you - that if they took skating away from him, he might just as well push up daisies.
