Rewriting history by the BBC

The BBC are very keen to tell us this morning how left wing radicals and anarchists are rioting in Greece.

Interestingly, the Press Association released this yesterday.

nothing new here..people tend to forget Greece is a commie third world dump...I do like all those waving black and red flags...so 1968.

I wanna said...

To be fair - I think asylum seekers started the riots 3 days ago, and a boy was shot, starting off more riots to do with the police and general disgruntlement with the govt.

I was going to make a post about how this was a classic case of "doublespeak" but then the comment above me (13:18) prodded me into some further digging, to avoid making an arse of myself. It is worth remembering, that the Greeks are revolting (or should that be, like revolting?!). They haven't exactly been peaceful so far this year...

So, I think this is roiting by immigrants, caused by an immigrant being pushed into a canal by a croud of immigrants being herded into a small area or something. It was exacerbated by a teenager being shot dead by police and then the right wingers and communists jumped on the band wagon... After all, who wouldn't jump at the chance to tip some cars and smash some shops...

Spokesman for Zanu Lab, Andrew Marr, said on his Sunday programme that the shops were all full of people spending and words to the effect that this must have been because of the cut in VAT. Fortunately, thinking man's totty Dame Joan Bakewell was there, and her reply was something like "with shops cutting prices by 50%, I don't think the VAT has much to do with it". Why are we forced, if we want to have telly at all, to pay for the Zanu Lab poison and lies to be dripped so constantly into our ears?
