We could go to the pub for a Christmas drink and a cigar.
We could drink wine without warning labels on the bottle.
We could walk to the post office in the snow to post our parcels, but sadly its now closed.
We always shopped in Woolworths on Christmas Eve as our fathers and our fathers fathers before them had. Sadly this will be the last year.
When we used to afford to heat our homes properly ” Then a poor man came in sight gathering winter fuel” todays pensioniers
You could write to your MP knowing it was confidential but sadly no more as the police may take the data.
Ah yes its lovely to be reminded of better times in the past

Aye, remember the days when being unemployed was a hardship and you would take any job to support your family, rather than the lifestyle choice is it today for many.
Don't worry. We'll get 6 billion is Aid from somewhere.

haha love ya BigBoys Advent Calendar!!
The Butcher is way too free with other people's money. He should be straitjacketed before he can fling any more in the direction of those gold reserves.
I discovered Old Holborn only too recently - due to the Peter Connelly case. I'm now getting to the point where I check this blog before any of the online news sources. OH is making me lazy - he's posting the stuff I want to read about, and doing the legwork for me.
I'd better put the brakes on before I turn into a total twat.
Will the Queen be on telly this year? Or has she been sacked in the latest round of BBC blood-letting and budget cutbacks? I think we should know, as I've always looked forward to making a big issue of ignoring the poncey twaddle she spouts.
Isn't it nice to think about Christmas?
I've put the sprouts on already. Don't want them undercooked.
Ah yes, the good old days, formerly known as these trying times.
Nostalgia's not what it was, antiques are a thing of the past.
I can still remember when all this was fields!
The Penguin
off topic, but important.
Look at the BBC "Have your say" section on damian greens arrest:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/talking_point/7758166.stm
Look at that, the ONLY have your say section on the BBC website that doesn't actually let you have your say...because the page is blank....and there's no comment form.
Are they trying their hardest to look biased?
Just posted there
the past was not always the best...but we remember it better because it is over and we don't have to relive it...
fuck the past...I was skint!....it's far easier to make money now without any old boys network etc.
Wouldn`t it be great if the queens speech contained dissident elements. Maybe if she would just question "why the fuck have my armed forces not been supplied with the right equipment" ? - or as defender of the faith and head of the church "why are we pandering to the muslims and allowing Islam to dictate to us how we run our country and make our laws" ? Isnt it about time the royal family made a stand ? What the fuck are we paying them for ?
Every child of primary school age that i have met recently is not going to be in a Christmas nativety play, because, their school is not doing one.
No doubt it is so that some muslim somewhere who still thinks they are living in durka durkastan wont be offended. Or, because some tree hugging wanker thinks that they may be offended.
As figure-heads of state, the royals would be in a good position to say something about the issue. And, can you really imagine one of ZNL's fingermen trying to arrest a royal while they are surrounded by all those soldiers with guns.
Ahh - but at least the ink stays fast on the newspapers nowadays.

That's the whole point AD; It's not our Muslims who object to us celebrating Christmas in our own land , it is the liberal lefty cunt apologists for Empire who presume to speak for them.
A local Imam told me that his community was not only baffled by attempts to stifle Christmas celebrations but also worried about the possible backlash from people blaming them for Winterval.
I can understand why BT are removing phone boxes since few use the tele-phone these days but why are the Post Office removing letter boxes ? Don't they want us to post stuff anymore ?
