Haringey Council is looking for new social workers after their current crop failed after 60 attempts to stop the death of little Baby P
Full advert HERE
UPDATE: The social workers responsible had access to the local NHS records of Baby P. Look at all those signatures at the bottom of the agreement. Hope they sleep well tonight.
UPDATE: Sharon Shoesmith is the head of Social Services. She's not going to sack anyone. Ask her why sharon.shoesmith@haringey.gov.uk

If an Air Traffic Controller screws up and kills people, he is charged with manslaughter and faces jail.
If an aircraft mechanic screws up and kills people he is charged with manslaughter and faces jail
If a soldier or policeman screws up and kills someone, he is charged with manslaughter and faces jail.
If you screw up while driving your car and kill someone, you will be charged and face jail.
If a social worker screws up and a child dies, there will be handwringing MPs, commissions, reccommendations, promises that it will not happen again, social workers off sick on "stress", etc etc.
But NOT a single one of those who let a child die will ever face jail.
Old Holborn agrees

32 people love my throbbing organ:
Not just the incompetent social services, what about the useless doctors and health visitors?
Fucking twats the lot of them - but will any heads roll?

Hang on, I can just hear those famous words....'Lessons will be learned'.
I agree Old Holborn. It wasn't the parents fault. As you say, they couldn't help themselves, it's up to someone else to stop them.
"Later, the board said that two Haringey social workers and a lawyer were given written warnings today over the case of the young boy." From The Times
Well, that's all right then, isn't it. And a spokesperson for Great Ormond Street, whose paediatrican failed to notice a broken spine and six broken ribs said that the doctor in question "no longer works here".
Accountability? Responsibility?
Eternal shame and damnation upon the lot of them, I hope they never have a peaceful moment, ever.

The parents will rot behind bars forever.
The people we paid to protect the victim "have received a warning"
Robert Gifford PM parliamentary advisory council on road safety -"you must be pretty stupid to miss a speed camera" but a broken kiddy, nah, that's systemic floors. Ah, but the mother lied - err... criminals fucking do.
Hypocrisy, obfuscation, deviance and shame.
arkangel, given the scale and horror of the fuck-up I think it will surely be a case of "VALUABLE lessons will be learned"
"...a spokesperson for Great Ormond Street, whose paediatrican failed to notice a broken spine and six broken ribs said that the doctor in question "no longer works here"."
Bet they haven't gone far. Still drawing an NHS salary, with a nice fat pension at the end of it.
God, stories like this make me so depressed...
In a previous life, I had the misfortune to work with a bunch of social workers for a short while.
Well-educated people, very good talkers.
Completely fucking useless at doing anything practical, or anything that involved conflict, fronting up the baddies or any situation in which they felt "uncomfortable".
Tofu-chewing, sandal wearing cunts of the highest order.
Children will remain vulnerable, harmed and killed all the time prats like this are employed. Have a complete clear out, and employ ex-coppers, ex-forces and sort this out.
May those responsible rot in hell.
That would be the same Haringey Council which promised to learn lessons after the equally horrific and avoidable death of
VICTORIA CLIMBIE
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/uk/2002/victoria_climbie_inquiry/default.stm
( it doesn't fit, google "victoria climbie haringey" ).
"Lord Laming told the hearing, that the eight-year-old's death had shocked the nation.
He added that its recommendations may affect the way the police, NHS and social services carry out their functions in the future."
Clearly not shocked enough M'Lud.
"A chronic shortage of social workers and funding will lead to a repeat of the Victoria Climbie murder, Unison warns."
Aha! not enough Social Workers seems to be the underlying problem. Not the fact that they are ( from tangenital experience ) self-serving, careerist, don't-blame-me-blame-him, equality-for-me-NOW busybody cunts.
WV JALIZ, just where they should go.

Hi OH, I took up your invitation & emailed Sharon Shoesmith, also c.c'd to Beverley Hughes (Hughes.ps@dcsf.gsi.gov.uk in case anyone wants to contact her)
'Dear Ms Shoesmith,
I have just watched you on TV saying that nobody at Haringay SS will lose their job over the horror of Baby P. As a taxpayer i.e. I pay your salary indirectly through my tax, I would like to ask why not?
This is not the first occasion that Haringay SS has failed miserably in the task of child protection. I can remember all the old nonsense rolled out over poor little Victoria Climbie – that old chestnut ‘lessons have been learned’. Well, very obviously lessons have not been learned. Again on the TV there’s now talk about child protection procedures nationwide being reviewed. The procedures do not need to be reviewed, the people applying them do. In my opinion, every person in Haringay SS who has been involved in this scandal should be sacked, from the lowliest social worker up to & including the Director of Social Services, where the buck is meant to stop - clear desks & go – no references – no payoffs – just accountability, something public employees seem to find very difficult to understand. Only an extreme response like that will impress on all SS workers that if they do not do their job properly, they will be held responsible.'
I cried as I listened to the news so I felt I had to do something, however small, to stand up & be counted. Guess I'd now better go get packed & ready for that 3am knock on the door, they don't like criticism do they?
"If a soldier or policeman screws up and kills someone, he is charged with manslaughter and faces jail."
Agree with the others but not sure about this one... The Police don't have a good record when it comes to showing their own the inside of a jail cell. Ask the 40 families a year that have had sons, daughters, mothers and fathers killed by police drivers* (nevermind the unfortunate shooting victims and their families).
Then again, Policemen are essentially civil servants with a powerful union so its only right a naughty one gets a slapped wrist and a quiet move to a more suitable job (with pay rise naturally).
* [Clearly some police drivers are genuinely innocent of any crime but then they are also allowed to use many more excuses not available to a civilian driver]
RM
If you can't hold them to account, who will?
Well done
I won't post what I sent - in the name of decency
Luke Akehurst who has a well known blog is I think a councillor oin harringay - and a zanu NL member of course. Suggest we bombard him. WHat happened to that child is too digusting not to.
Jeez, even when the state interferes, they fuck it up. in thios case with the loss of an innocent life

Andy
Andy, have been to visit Mr Akehurst's blog. Thank you for the link.
I was about to arrange a donation of £50k to NSPCC(an uncle was Chairman of the HK branch in the 30's) when I read of the Victoria Climbie case. Tortured and murdered under the noses of the Haringey Council, police, hospital and NSPCC. On closer study I discovered that NSPCC is run for the benefit of the staff. Look at the accounts. A mealy mouthed explanation confirmed that this bunch of useless do gooders could no sooner protect a child that a rabid dog.
These scum need to be slowly beaten to death over a number of days.
I just sent an email simply saying 'RESIGN'. I suggest everyone else does the same.
I have just sent her an email asking her to have the decency to resign
Likewise.
Unfortunately someone I knew very was killed by a care in the community case in Camden in 2005. Despite the best efforts of a very good legal team, involving some of the very top brains in this country, they were unable to penetrate the immensely complicated social services structure built up around the head of Camden SS - a system so complex that even their own staff do not understand who reports to whom.
Something like this does not surprise me in the least. Social services the nation over have certainly spent the past 20 years ensuring that their system allows for them to make fatuous statements about how they have 'learned' from their mistakes while all the time ignoring anything that might threaten their lucrative incomes and their pensions.

I just posted this comment on the Grauniad(it's appropriate that I tell you - and you'll see why when you read it):

What part of 'no' is it that so many of you don't understand?
Wanting to force medical interventions - serious interventions at that - on people that would rather not, thank you all the same.
Everyone dies you know - and once you are dead then to you it doesn't matter when or how you died. No treatment is life-saving, only death-postponing. And we all have individualised values and attitudes about everything. How dare some impose theirs on others!
I think SS is an entirely appropriate acronym for the relevant Social Services in this case. Josef Mengele would have felt quite at home amongst these people.
And to go a little off-topic (but not by much): there's the case of that poor little infant who was brutally murdered because the SS didn't intervene. Seems to be standard practise these days doesn't it: the SS intervenes when it shouldn't; doesn't intervene when it should. And in addition, to use a quote from a blog (I wont link because I'm not sure your sensitive souls would survive an encounter with Old Holborn, and you do seem to so much fear the inevitable):

So true (I'm an aircraft engineer - and I've been very conscious of the above since the first day of my apprenticeship some 40+ years ago). "
Why doesn't everyone go make a comment of their own?

Hmmmm - meant to post that under the Hannah Jones story. But never mind - here will do.
You only need to look at the following name - dreamt up at some expensive off-siter no doubt - to get a gist at what wibble must come out of it:
"The Haringey Local Safeguarding Children Board"
If one could harness the energy of boiling piss, my lekkie bills would be zero for a month.
Apart from the ghastly newspeak "safeguarding", whatever that nonsense means, it does not scan, and appears to be a grammatical train-wreck.
They boil people to death for less in many countries. I suggest we do that. Social workers too. Despicable, evil cunts that they are.
Sombody is a little bit thick they lose their chldren
Torture them and the parent is "supported"
I'll support the bitch. Using strong hemp rope
Sixty visits by "so-called" experts and this defenceless child dies in pain that I cannot imagine. And yet at Parliament, Cameron asks a half decent question and is given a series of the usual "executive summary" has been issued, "lessons will be learnt", "weaknesses have been identified" by the PM. I don't have any time for Cameron or the PM, but as usual no questions are directly answered and the whole lot will eventually be forgotten about until the next one dies. The layer upon layer of red-tape, delegated accountability and self nest-feathering will always result in this.
And another defenceless child will die. And then another. And then another.
It all boils down to the simple fact that most Social Workers are simply incompetents who are quite happy to take the inflated salary, comfy hours and gold-plated pension, without actually helping anyone. There is always someone else to blame. I have had occasion to meet some of these people and I wouldn't employ most of them to polish my shoes. But once they have their feet under the table of public service, they turn into the green-eyed self-serving spineless loafers that are blighting this country. At least the unemployed don't do anything badly since they do nothing at all - this lot get paid a fortune to do everything badly.
The continued incompetence at all levels of government - be it social services, the economy, education, the health service, law and order, transport, the mere fact that they could actually put people like Blears, Balls and Harperson in positions of power, is testament to troughing nature of pretty much all politicians.
In the meantime, I am asking my biochemist friend to invent a sort of Myximotosis for Social Workers. It is only right.
E-mailed Shoesmith, the waste of DNA, and asked her to resign.
