My walk - DETAILS

Dear all and sundry
For those wishing to take a stroll on the 5th November, I shall be taking suitable refreshment prior to my stroll from 11am onwards at

The Chandos.

29 St Martins Lane,

Strand,

London,

WC2N 4ER

Here is a map

I will not be carrying a phone or ID of ANY kind. You will have to guess who I am. Here's a clue.

More details, if required from oldhoborn@googlemail.com
See you there. It may well be your last chance. November 5th, 12 Noon, Trafalgar Square.
For those too remote or with better things to do than make an anonymous stand against all that is wrong in this country at the moment, you can watch on webcam

FELLOW BLOGGERS AND LIBERTARIANS, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD.

I think the pub's called the Chandos, not the Chandros. Used to drink in there. Very sorry not to be supporting you in body, but will be in spirit.

Duly ammended Mr Sub Ed.

I hear the place has gone upmarket since your enormous tab was sold to Dirty Dicks at Liverpool St.

I probably saw you in there, OH. Used to quaff pints of Ordinary whilst being closely observed by the mummified cat above the bar, wih the moving paw. Stolen whilst it was my local, but not by me.

leave me alone you bastards said...

Guido has that so called intersting poll as a header.

Can't be with you in body but will be there in mind, they won't let me out of the mental hospital,I keep telling them the met police might help me with a place to stay.

PS good luck will watch the webcam.

You're buying?
The Beast would walk a mile over broken glass and stab the baby Jesus in the heart for a free pint.

Regrettably I will be starting a new job Monday and so can no longer attend. Gutted.

You'd best walk slowly that webcam updates every 10 mins.

A few weeks ago I got you entirely wrong, didn't I, Old Holborn ?

I'm feeling a prize chump and am sincerely sorry about it. I hope there are no hard feelings.

Have a great day out on the 5th.

Kev.

I have nothing better to do, not by a long chalk, but I am too far away to make it doable. Brilliant idea; I'll be with you in spirit and raising a glass of something appropriate at 1100hr.

If I lived anywhere near London I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Unfortunately.....

Enjoy your constitutional, smile for the cameras and be aware many more are with you than can join you.

Sadly I live in Scotland. If this were in Glasgow or even Edinburgh I would be there, but alas not; London is too expensive to get to.

However, I will be there in spirit, Citizen.

*They* do NOT have my silent obedient consent.
Ever.

I'm still coming. And coming HARD.

Anon @ 14:46: Of course there's no reason why a little stroll down to Holyrood can't be undertaken, indeed the scenery around Stormont looks quite nice and I'm sure a suitable route could be worked out for Cardiff.

By the by, I've been practicing repeating the phrase, 'I was merely walking down the street. I was not engaging in any demonstration, protest, anti-social behaviour or terrorist activity' ad nauseum. Just in case anybody feels the need to interview me about the walk and commit my thoughts to tape. . .

What's wrong with the Lamb and Flag? The beer in the Chandos tastes like piss.

Trying to persuade my Mrs that a couple of days in London would be more culturally rewarding than a few in Derbyshire.

Lying of course - but if I pull it off, I'll see you there.

Re. not carrying ID: isn't it an offence not to provide your details to a policeman if you are acting anti-socially? Watch out for that one, I'm sure the police will try and get you on that... I wouldn't mind being arrested before all this DNA shit came in - I actually don't have anything to hide, just find the whole thing reprehensible. Good luck on your walk, thinking about joining you.

Old Holborn said...

Why would I get arrested?

I'm just going for a walk. That isn't anti social. Yet.

(Although 9pm curfews were trialled in Devon this summer)

You would be welcome to join me. Walking is healthy for you.

The word is spread. Got my mask, but can't get away from work. Make it a Saturday next time. It might be an idea to have local press aware and a lawyer on call if not present.

Good luck and God Speed. Enjoy the Walk and pint.

Old Holborn said...

I am quite sure we will have enough interest from the press and yes, we do have m'learned friends on hand should either the police or any ramblers overstep the mark.

All are welcome to stroll with me.

I am taking a day off work to accompany you, wearing the cunning disguise of a well-worn, middle class man going about his business. It just so happens that I would like to go for a walk.

There's no law against that, is there? See you at the Chandos.

Snowolf said...

Just starting my stretching now. Don't want to pull anything. . .

Last week it was International Zombie Day and the police didn't panic and arrest all the undead.
