Bloggers 1 Jumped up EU cunts 0

Good News. The EU was trying to ban anonymous blogging and they just got double fisted.

Estonian centre-left MEP Marianne Mikko, the report's author - had wanted to call for full clarification of the legal status of webblog authors, disclosure of bloggers' interests and the voluntary labelling of blogs, all of which had been supported by MEPs across the political spectrum at the committee level.
Just because you lived under the Soviets and were regularly asked for your papers, doesn't mean the rest of us need to be subjected to Stalinesque abuse.

At the time, the Swedish government had recently narrowly passed legislation that gave officials the power to open all emails and listen to any telephone conversation in the country, and Ms Mikko's proposals around blogs seemed to be of a similar nature to the government's surveillance bill

So you thought you'd rush a bill through that would add even more power to the EU nest of vipers, eh?

"I've been subject to a lot of attacks from bloggers all over Europe," Ms Mikko told reporters after the passage of the resolution. "I've been called Mao Tse-Tung, Lukashenko, Ceauscescu - it's not very pleasant."

I could call you many, many things. I would prefer however, to hang you from a fucking lampost.

"I understand and yet I don't understand the reaction of bloggers," she said. "Nobody is interested in regulating the internet ... But I understand how a sensitivity was touched. I'm sorry that's the playground we're dealing with at the moment."

It's very, very simple you stupid potato munching, grey faced cunt. Just fucking leave us alone.

307 votes to 262? That to me is too bloody close.

Expect to see this "democratic vote" folded into other legislation and put forward again. Very soon.

Back to the drawing board, rollmop-herring-breath. I'm sure you will come up with another spiffing idea to justify your gravy train remuneration.

So the real reason they want bloggers to name themselves is so they can spy on anyone that say's anything bad about them.
No doubt that phones and computers will be tapped and your mail will be tampered with, and the facist fucking pricks will do their best to fuck your life up!
I hate them all and i wish them all a horrible painfull death at the hands of their own fingermen.

It was close, but no cigar. That'll do for today.

Don't think this has gone away.

Things the EU want to do never go away.

It'll be back, sooner, or later, or disguised, or buried in something else. But it will be back.

They never give up, and neither must we.

All this is going to do is continue a trend that has been going on since the invention of the Internet: security hardening.

We started out with protocols like Telnet with no security. Hardly anyone uses these now; all comms is via the OpenSSH family of protocols, with strong encryption built in. All that persecuting bloggers is going to achieve is to make said bloggers post to blogs hosted in some country with a more Libertarian outlook; experience should teach politicians that legislating against the net is a hiding to nothing ALL THE DAMN TIME.

I'm already starting to think of renting email and net link forwarding services in a neutral country such as Norway or Finland, just to leave the local numpties nothing but an encrypted stream to sniff.

And so it goes. Nested TrueCrypt volumes defeat the RIP Act here in the UK; one shouldn't need to descend to such tactics but the dirty bastards simply force it to be done. We will win, of this I am sure, simply because pervasive surveillance is so costly and achieves so little against a truly annoyed populace, but I hope it is sooner rather than later.

Loved the post about playing the bastards at their own game with petty rules how about this.

Take the Magna Carta and the Declaration of independence and encrypt them using something strong call the file something slightly provocative like "Jihad plans" and email it to loads of people and get them to do the same.Drive the bastards nuts.

What tomrat said. 262 MEPs loved it. As worrying was the quality of the argument put forward by the bint "someone called me names on the interweb so I want the whole thing fully disclosed." All righty then, that's not an overreaction at all, is it, my fine Estonian friend.

I thought they already DID know all about us.

Anony-blogging gives vent to people in responsible positions who have no other way of expressing themselves so fullsomely.

I only blog under a pseudonym because my real name is crap.

Electro sounds so much more ...

I'm past caring what the Government fucking thinks. I could give a shit if they want to waste their time harrasing me.

The only reason I don't use my real name is work. Fuck the Government, fuck MI shit for brains and all the others, couldn't give a fucking toss.

You can see 'Swiss' Bob on the log down the sidebar. I could also write this on an encypted laptop with anonymiser passing me through a proxy, but as I said, I'm past fucking caring.

Wish I could be there Nov. 5th.

PS Forgot to say fuck the EU, long live the free people of Switzerland, the thorn at the heart of the Euroviet Union.

Electro-Kevin, my real name is Crap too. Perhaps we're related.

Of all she said, this part stuck out.
I'm sorry that's the playground we're dealing with at the moment

Playground? She thinks the EU is a playground for her to romp around in as she pleases?

Oh wait, they all think that, don't they. Silly me.

I'm not expecting the sods to leave it alone and walk away either.

Old Holborn said...

Of course they won't walk away. This was a water test. Using some obscure blond tart from an ex Soviet state as bait.

But now we're watching. They know this too.

All they need is ONE powerful "character" to push this and the fight will really start.

Oh, it's going to be fun. They think they'll win. They really do.

Hi. I'm fat. Could someone take my money and use it to pay some bint to harrass me in the street? Thanks. EU? What's that then? Doesn't bother me.

Good blog. Fuck the EU and fuck off Marianne Mikko. I think you'll find you are unable to control us you half baked cunt.

From todays Telegraph

Ten commandments for bloggers:

1 You shall not put your blog before your integrity

2 You shall not make an idol of your blog

3 You shall not misuse your screen name by using your anonymity to sin

4 Remember the Sabbath day by taking one day off a week from your blog

5 Honour your fellow-bloggers above yourselves and do not give undue significance to their mistakes

6 You shall not murder someone else's honour, reputation or feelings

7 You shall not use the web to commit or permit adultery in your mind

8 You shall not steal another person's content

9 You shall not give false testimony against your fellow-blogger

10 You shall not covet your neighbour's blog ranking. Be content with your own content

Anon, they won't go after your hosting company, they'll go after your ISP.

And if your stream is encrypted, well it won't pass their routers.

Simple as that.

Don't get delusions of grandeur or immunity - the State is still the State (and still not your friend), and slowly but surely the beast is stirring into action.

We'll need something to replace the internet in the end, because they will find a way to own it.
